the Big 12 unveiled its inaugural 16-team conference football schedule for the upcoming 2024 season. Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah are set to make their debut as members of the Big 12 Conference, while Colorado makes a return to the league.
Maintaining the tradition of nine league games without divisions, Big 12 programs will engage in regular-season league play concluding over Thanksgiving weekend with a robust schedule of eight games. The pinnacle of the Conference season is the 2024 Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship Game, scheduled for Saturday, December 7 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.
The 29th season of Big 12 Football kicks off on Sept. 14, featuring TCU hosting UCF. The 2024 season promises the introduction of new rivalries and the revival of old ones. Notable matchups include BYU's journey to Utah on Nov. 9, Arizona hosting Arizona State on Nov. 30, and Colorado's return to Big 12 action against Baylor on Sept. 21. The Sunflower Showdown between Kansas and K-State will unfold in Manhattan on Oct. 26, while Oklahoma State hosts Texas Tech on Nov. 23, and K-State faces off against Iowa State the following week in Ames. Cincinnati hosts West Virginia on Nov. 9 for the first time since 2011, and Houston welcomes Baylor on Nov. 30, marking their first encounter since both were Southwest Conference members.
Due to preexisting agreements, Arizona at K-State and Baylor at Utah will engage in non-conference matchups in 2024. Television selections for the first three weeks of the season will be made by ESPN and FOX during the summer and announced accordingly.
Commencing this summer, the Big 12 lineup will feature Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, BYU, Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, UCF, Utah, and West Virginia.
