Description

On April 14th, former Oregon State wide receiver Zeriah Beason put his name into the transfer portal. After drawing interest from the Georgia Bulldogs and SMU, Beason has chosen to remain in the Pac-12 and join HC Jake Dickert up in Pullman to play for Washington State. Beason cited the Cougars' air raid attack for a reason why he decided on Washington State, and he should have a chance to be an immediate contributor for Coach Dickert and OC Brian Smith.
Many expect, and rightfully so, that as Lincoln Riley settles into his new job with USC he will have no issue recruiting high-caliber offensive skill position players. The Trojans landed a commitment from a 2023 4-star RB from the state of Texas, Quinten Joyner. With Oregon RB transfer Travis Dye only eligible to play for one season with USC, it's a position that Lincoln Riley needed to address. USC Football's 2022 recruiting class ranks 65th nationally, behind even their in-city rival UCLA--a trend that we should not expect to continue in the coming years.
UCLA football announced a 2033/2034 home-and-home series with Northwestern. To become a respected football conference, the Pac-12 certainly needs to regularly schedule (and ultimately beat) power-5 non-conference opponents--even if CFB scheduling is inherently odd. Northwestern Football isn't the worst team the Bruins could schedule, but it would have been nice to see UCLA aim for a higher overall quality of program as they look ahead to the future.
