She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from the University of Iowa College of Nursing in 2008.
Upon graduating, she worked for three years as an ER nurse at Iowa's only level-one trauma center, where she gained valuable skills and knowledge in the healthcare field. During that time, she obtained her Master's of Nursing degree from the University of Iowa nurse practitioner program, focusing on Adult/Geriatric health. In addition to her work with IHHC, she also practices part-time at the University of Iowa QuickCare and Urgent Care clinics. From 2015-2020 she also served as the Director of Health Services at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, working closely with the college-age population on health wellness promotion and mental health.
She is proud to be certified through BioTE Medical, a bioidentical hormone replacement therapy company for both men and women.
Iowa natives, she and her husband Brian stay busy with their four children, ages 10, 9, 7, and 2; all of whom have deepened her understanding and commitment to living a healthy, well-balanced life.
She enjoys running, hiking, reading, and cheering her kids on in all their sports.

Sarah Gates's Bio:
Sarah Gates, MSN, ARNP, FNP-C, was born and raised in Iowa, and lives nearby with her husband Justin, son Jonah, and her dogs Sherman and Zamboni.
