These tips are for combatting cravings in the moment. So where do cravings COME FROM?! Because you know I'm all about that ROOT CAUSE!Comes from blood sugar disregulation & insulin resistanceA main function of the endocrine system is to transport glucose to your brain, muscles & heart. If anything about the process goes wrong, you’re going to have disregulated blood sugar which doesn’t allow any of the other parts of the endocrine system to function properly.Unstable blood sugar is one of the most important underlying causes behind hormonal imbalances.When you eat refined carbs (sugar), your body breaks it down into simple sugars like glucose. Your pancreas reacts to this load of glucose by releasing the hormone insulin which is meant to go inside of our cells.Your pancreas also reacts to LOW blood sugar levels from not eating ENOUGH or waiting too long between mealsWhen you're insulin resistant- this excess insulin doesn’t go into the cells & perform their job because the cells are RESISTANT to it. Instead, it stays floating around in the bloodstream causing weight gain, heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes & too much testosterone which leads to facial hair, acne, hair loss TIPS to help cravings in the moment:1. Set timer for 10 minutes before giving into the craving2. Drink a full glass of room temp water3. Journal/breathe think about why you’re craving what you’re craving and if it's actually hunger or if it’s emotional4. If you're having a sweet craving, have a tea latte- hemp/oat milk with herbal tea and 1tbsp cacao powder.
