Description

What is true? That’s a powerful question; one that Molly is asking herself and sharing her answer with you today. Molly has listened to stories of people’s transgressions against themselves, whether it be binging, starving, drinking until blackout, the list goes on. Though, based on her experience, there are three real truths behind why we transgress, particularly with food. Not being able to set and enforce healthy boundaries, trouble finding nourishment and nurturance from other sources, and not having enough joy in life.  In this episode, Molly breaks down her scary experience of having covid-19 (twice) and the impact it’s had on her eating disorder. She details the feelings she had when she realized that she had gained 10-15 pounds, how she overcame the overwhelm of gaining weight while sick, and the nuggets of truth she learned along her journey. Tune in! Episode Quotes “I had to really be cautious and extremely cognizant of what a loving action toward myself was.” – Molly Carmel “Nobody gets well through fear, no one well through force, and no one gets well through facts.” – Molly Carmel Key Highlights Don’t compare your story to other people’s stories. Instead, listen and identify how you can relate; It can be hard not to attach yourself to what your body looks like, especially when you’ve gained weight. But instead of going back to hardcore weight loss tactics, identify and choose what actions are going to be most loving to you; You are lovable no matter what. Even if your body or your physical symptoms never change a day in your life, it WILL be okay;  If you’re living in shame and fear, nothing will ever be enough and nothing will change for the better. Acceptance is the only place from which we can change; If you’ve lost connection with your Self, redefine what self-love and self-worth mean to you. Find something you can be grateful for today.
