Description

Another week, another LSU Tiger on All Things Covered. Ryan Clark shares the same college as Patrick Peterson and once shared the same dorm room at Steelers Training Camp with Bryant McFadden (34:15). The guys chat about those LSU days, RC playing safety alongside Sean Taylor and Troy Polamalu and the top safeties in the league today. But first, we unfortunately have to recap the unceremonious end to the Arizona Cardinals season (1:30). Pat breaks down how big a blow it was to lose Kyler Murray on the opening drive, the job the defense did vs. backup John Wolford and some questionable calls and no calls surrounding DeAndre Hopkins. P2 then sums up the season as a whole and addresses his future as he is set to become a free agent this offseason. Could Sunday have been his final game in a Cardinals uniform? The guys then tackle news from around the league (19:30), including Doug Pederson's curious and somewhat obvious tanking effort to gift wrap Washington the NFC East. Should players lose respect over that move? We also examine what it's like to go through a coaching change and look ahead to the most dangerous teams in the playoffs. Next, it's time to welcome our guest, Ryan Clark (34:15). Ryan details what led to him signing with the Tigers and then credits Pat for creating the legacy of 'DBU'. RC played for Nick Saban in college and knew 20 years ago that he was destined to become one of the greatest coaches ever. The conversation shifts to Ryan's time in the league and the relationship he formed with Sean Taylor. He believes Taylor could have gone down as one of the greatest safeties of all time. We revisit the torturous 2007 Steelers Training Camp led by Mike Tomlin and a life-changing incident that happened to Ryan in Denver later that season. RC is known for his big hits, but there was none bigger than the one he put on Willis McGahee in the 2008 AFC Championship Game. The memory is foggy due to the play, but BMac clearly remembers. We finish with superlatives and learn the player Ryan wishes he could have laid a hit on and the best player he ever played with!

Titles in the series (100)

Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden have made a living for their coverage skills on the football field, and while it's a different technique, they're now applying those traits on their podcast 'All Things Covered'. Instead of wide receivers, tight ends and running backs, they'll be covering sports, entertainment, social issues, personal interests and more. Every Wednesday, the 8-time Pro Bowler Peterson and 2-time Super Bowl champion McFadden will discuss what's happening on the gridiron as well as what intrigues them off the field. Each week they'll welcome a star from the sports and entertainment world to have wide-ranging conversations about what interests them. Guests can include active or former football players but also athletes and influencers from other sports and walks of life. Football is how we know our hosts, but far from what defines Pat and BMac. The name says everything; expect all things to be covered! You can also watch us on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/AllThingsCovered
