It's a special week in the college football landscape. On Saturday, Southern University plays Jackson State, so we thought this was the perfect opportunity to further highlight HBCU football, following our conversation with Mel Blount a few weeks ago. On this episode, we feature an outstanding chat with Southern alum and Pro Football Hall of Famer Aeneas Williams as well as longtime Southern coach Pete Richardson. Both men are to be commended for their storied careers and efforts to further elevate HBCU football. Aeneas and Coach each share their path to Southern and detail the history of HBCUs with a focus on the representation within the Pro Football Hall of Fame. We shift our focus to this week with that matchup between the Jaguars and Tigers and beyond just one game, the importance of the legendary Deion Sanders now being associated with HBCUs. Aeneas and Coach detail how the NFL can help HBCUs and how HBCUs themselves can make themselves more attractive to high school athletes. We hope you enjoy this special!
