With the NFL Draft quickly approaching, we'll be highlighting several top talents that could be 1st-round selections. But for every Patrick Peterson (going high in the draft) there are players down the draft board grinding to prove that they belong. That's the focus of this episode as we feature two potential hidden gems, Mike Strachan (1:30) from the University of Charleston and Janarius Robinson (18:15) from Florida State.
Mike Strachan (1:30) is a true hidden gem that could win up being the steal of the 2021 NFL Draft. The Bahamas native shares his background which includes leaving his home country at 16 to pursue his football dream in the United States. Mike explains how he landed at the University of Charleston in West Virginia, his crazy Pro Day stats, and his approach to being the underdog (despite his massive size). Strachan is 6'5, 228 and runs his 40 in the 4.3s or 4.4s, so on paper, his Calvin Johnson comparisons aren't crazy!
Janarius Robinson (18:15) is a name you'll hear during the 2021 NFL Draft and on Sundays next fall. The EDGE prospect out of Florida State joins Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden to detail his path to the pros that includes some tragic bumps along the way. Janarius and his mother lost their home in Panama City due to Hurricane Michael in October of 2018. He shares what that experience taught him and how it motivated him as he returned to the field. Robinson explains what it means to be a part of the FSU family. He also speaks about his Senior Bowl and Pro Day experiences and why NFL teams should take a shot on him.
