Description

This episode will make you wanna say "uhh." That's right, hip hop legend Master P is our special guest (28:30), as he covers his hip hop career, sports career and entrepreneurial endeavors. But first, hosts Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden link up on what's happening with them and what's happening in the NFL. Pat is now in offseason mode, but what does "offseason mode" look like (1:30)? Next, the guys cover the most interesting storylines from the Wild Card Round (4:45), including the Steelers suffering an early playoff exit, Lamar Jackson winning his first postseason game, and the Rams defense dominating the Seahawks. They also react to the All Pro teams being announced with a focus on the secondary (13:35). Jalen Ramsey, Xavien Howard, Tyrann Mathieu, Budda Baker and Minkah Fitzpatrick represent the defensive backs. Did the voters get it right? Our DBs weigh in. P2 and BMac then lookahead to the Divisional Round (16:20), with an emphasis on top WR-CB matchups like DaVante Adams vs. Jalen Ramsey and Mike Evans vs. Marshon Lattimore. We head to the college ranks as Alabama has won another title (20:15). Ho hum. The real focal point is the brilliant play of Heisman Trophy winner Devonta Smith. Pat thinks he'll have no issues translating to the next level, while BMac compares Smith's game to both Marvin Harrison and DeSean Jackson. High praise! Then, it's time to welcome the icon, Master P (28:30)! The New Orleans native shares his love for the Saints and his love for hoops that nearly became another professional career. He talks about his stints in the NBA and getting into preseason games as well as a pickup game he played against Michael Jordan. And now, he wants to compete against MJ again. But this time in the shoe game. Master P details his interest in buying Reebok and his plans to make Allen Iverson the featured face of the brand. Pick your title for P...He gets to wear the movie producer cap as we ask about his film career, the music producer label as we learn his top 5 artists he signed to No Limit Records, and the role of Dad as we hear about his basketball-playing sons. Master P continues to explain why he never worked much with Young Money and his lack of interest in doing a Verzuz battle. As always, Superlatives signal the end of the conversation, but not before getting his Mount Rushmore of New Orleans rappers and some Tracy McGrady/Vince Carter memories.

Titles in the series (100)

Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden have made a living for their coverage skills on the football field, and while it's a different technique, they're now applying those traits on their podcast 'All Things Covered'. Instead of wide receivers, tight ends and running backs, they'll be covering sports, entertainment, social issues, personal interests and more. Every Wednesday, the 8-time Pro Bowler Peterson and 2-time Super Bowl champion McFadden will discuss what's happening on the gridiron as well as what intrigues them off the field. Each week they'll welcome a star from the sports and entertainment world to have wide-ranging conversations about what interests them. Guests can include active or former football players but also athletes and influencers from other sports and walks of life. Football is how we know our hosts, but far from what defines Pat and BMac. The name says everything; expect all things to be covered! You can also watch us on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/AllThingsCovered
