Description

Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden are joined by a legend from the NFC North, former Packers safety Leroy Butler. We eventually dive into his career but first focus on Green Bay being eliminated from the postseason, what the future holds for Aaron Rodgers and why the organization doesn't have more Super Bowls over the past 30 years. Then, it's time to follow Leroy's journey to the NFL all the way to being a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Butler went from playing for a Florida high school coaching legend in Corky Rodgers to playing for a Florida college coaching legend in Bobby Bowden. He shares words of wisdom from Deion Sanders at Florida State and recalls the epic "Puntrooskie" play he was a part of against Clemson in 1988. Our guest is a legend in his own right but also created the epic Packers tradition known as the Lambeau Leap. What inspired it and why did it stick? The man that often goes by "Leap" now remembered Green Bay's incredible 1996 season capped by a Super Bowl and how essential the team camaraderie was for that group. Brett Favre and Reggie White changed the tone of that team as Leroy labels Reggie as the best defensive player ever! We also get to hear his thoughts on the rival Vikings including what it was like to match up with Randy Moss and his feelings when Brett Favre joined Minnesota. Butler is up for the Hall of Fame and feels like he has a decent shot to get in. Will he get the call this year? Finally, Superlatives.

Titles in the series (100)

Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden have made a living for their coverage skills on the football field, and while it's a different technique, they're now applying those traits on their podcast 'All Things Covered'. Instead of wide receivers, tight ends and running backs, they'll be covering sports, entertainment, social issues, personal interests and more. Every Wednesday, the 8-time Pro Bowler Peterson and 2-time Super Bowl champion McFadden will discuss what's happening on the gridiron as well as what intrigues them off the field. Each week they'll welcome a star from the sports and entertainment world to have wide-ranging conversations about what interests them. Guests can include active or former football players but also athletes and influencers from other sports and walks of life. Football is how we know our hosts, but far from what defines Pat and BMac. The name says everything; expect all things to be covered! You can also watch us on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/AllThingsCovered
