The Golden Knights scored two goals in the third period to beat the Maple Leafs at T-Mobile Arena Monday night, 3-1. The goals were scored by Chandler Stephenson and Michael Amadio, Nic Roy started the scoring for VGK early in the first period. VGK's defense played well defensively and shut down Auston Matthews of Toronto. He had four shots in the first period, but Matthews could only muster one other shot on goal for the remainder of the game. VGK has not scored a second period goal over the past four games. Logan Thompson got the win between the pipes saving 22 shots, but the Maple Leafs had three shots ring the post. We preview the VGK-Sharks game. Tonight's tail end of the back-to-back is a revenge game after San Jose played spoiler last season season by rallying to knock off VGK in a shootout.
