The Golden Knights had perhaps their best win of the season Thursday night, defeating the Florida Panthers 5-3 at home. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for VGK. The victory, however, might have been a costly one as Jack Eichel left the game with an apparent hand injury and did not play in the third period. Pete DeBoer said Eichel would be evaluated further Friday. Evgenii Dadonov, who has been among players rumored to be in trade conversations, netted two goals and had a couple of choice opportunities for a hat trick. Dadonov moved up to the top line when Eichel went out and William Karlsson centered the line. The Golden Knights started Logan Thompson between the pipes Thursday night. VGK had been very shaky at goaltender during the last game of the road trip in Winnipeg. Now, we could have a goalie controversy of sorts, with Thompson and Laurent Brossoit both vying for playing time. Robin Lehner remains out and VGK could be shopping for a starting goalie by Monday's trade deadline.
