The Golden Knights were shutout for the fifth time this season, losing 3-0 in Boston Wednesday night. VGK was expected to start Adin Hill in net after Logan Thompson became ill. But Hill suffered some sort of setback and was unable to be the starting goaltender. So Jiri Patera was called on to start and Isaiah Saville was called up from Henderson to serve as backup. To make matters worse, Michael Amadio had to be scratched due to illness so VGK went with the 11-7 structure in the game. The Avs scored twice on the power play, as special teams continue to be a weak spot with the club. Tonight, Bruce Cassidy faces his former team, the Boston Bruins, who also have injury concerns. Linus Ullman, the Vezina Trophy winner, was injured in Boston's OT loss in Phoenix two nights ago. They have also had numerous injuries and have used 17 line combinations this season.
