Description

On this episode of the Talent Acquisition Leaders podcast, host Ryan Dull welcomes Trent Cotton, VP Talent Acquisition & Retention at Bureau Veritas Group, a global company that performs various types of testing, inspection, and certification.
Trent talks about the unique aspect of his particular job. He has to identify and recruit specialized talent to fill many of their open roles, because not everyone is qualified to perform testing, inspections, or certifications.
In order to get the best results, Trent’s first order of business at his new position has been to analyze all the processes he inherited and figure out ways to improve and streamline them. He admits to being a bit of a technology junkie, and he is a big fan of automating any process with the latest tools available; not to replace humans, but to make their lives easier.
His advice for young professionals coming into the TA profession is to never lose your intellectual curiosity. He reminds people that nobody has all the answers, so keep asking questions, keep learning, and keep growing as a professional and as a person.
