Description

Guest Bio Karen Horneffer-Ginter is the author of Full Cup, Thirsty Spirit, and she has a passion for helping people reclaim what gets lost amidst the busyness of day-to-day life: qualities such as self-care, joy, humor, gratitude, and compassion. Karen currently serves as an Associate Professor and the Assistant Dean for Wellness at the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. She is the former Program Director for WMU’s Integrative Holistic Health and Wellness Program and the co-founder of the Center for Psychotherapy and Wellness in Kalamazoo.   Description Look around you and find someone who is really good at rest. Chances are, you can’t see anyone who fits this category. What you probably see is a lot of people who are overcommitted and totally stretched beyond capacity. So, what’s the deal? Why when we’re biologically designed to rest do so many of us find no time for it or resist opportunities to just stop for five minutes? Why do we all have more to do than is possible to do?     Mentioned in this Episode   Full Cup, Thirsty Spirit: Nourishing the Soul When Life's Just Too Much Ph.D. Karen Horneffer-Ginter https://www.amazon.com/Full-Cup-Thirsty-Spirit-Nourishing/dp/1401939937     Connect with the 60 Mindful Minutes podcast   Web: https://kristenmanieri.com  Email: Kristen@kristenmanieri.com    Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/60MindfulMinutes Instagram: @kristenmanieri_

When things change inside us, things change around us. Launched in 2017, 60 Mindful Minutes invites you into conversations with award-winning and best-selling authors about what it means to live a more connected, conscious and intentional life. In this fast-paced, digital-centric world, finding the time and space to tune into ourselves has become increasingly difficult. And yet, we all benefit from stillness and introspection. It’s in the white spaces that we come home to ourselves, learn to know ourselves more deeply, and begin to navigate our lives with intention. Join Certified Mindfulness Teacher Kristen Manieri for this weekly deep dive into conscious living. (Formerly, The Synced Life)
