Description

You'd think an athletic guy who's always been fit and active would "get it." You'd think if he went into the fitness industry and worked for a big gym as a trainer, he'd "get it." You'd think if he got advanced certification in personal training and nutrition coaching, he'd "get it." You'd think if his wife was in the same business, they'd both "get it."And you'd be wrong. It wasn't until they observed hundred of clients fail year after year, that Casey Ruff  and wife Bethany began to question the things they'd been taught about metabolism, exercise and diet. They realized the conventional wisdom was - in a word - wrong. In this entertaining hour, Casey Ruff explains his transformation from an educated-but-ignorant trainer to one of the more respected health and nutrition coaches in the world today.Contact: https://www.myboundlessbody.comEpisode snippets:4:43 - 5:34 - The workout that didn’t work12:26 - 13:09 - When you find that it's wrong, time to do something different18:59 - 19:25 - The idea of eating less and moving more and its effects on people20:27 - 21:07 - What "diet and exercise program" actually do22:36 - 23:35 - How do we teach the body to burn more calories28:57 - 29:42 - How keto helped Casey mentally38:53 - 39:55 - Is it natural to find apples 365 days a year?41:16 - 41:44 - Worst and best diet advice49:19 - 49:59 - Do things that you enjoy51:30 - 52:55 - How a professional fitness coach can make a differenceConnect with Dr. Ovadia:TwitteriFixHearts WebsiteStay Off My Operating Table WebsiteAmazon Theme Song : Rage AgainstWritten & Performed by Logan Gritton & Colin Gailey(c) 2016 Mercury Retro RecordingsProduced by 38atoms & Jack Heald

He was a morbidly obese heart surgeon. Through high school, college, med school and surgical training, he followed the U.S. dietary guidelines for both diet and exercise. Yet nothing he did could keep the weight off. Each day in the operating theater he would split open the chests of people just like himself. He was heading for the operating table and knew he had to find solutions that worked. In 2016, he finally found a way to lose 100 pounds and keep it off. Now - in addition to doing heart surgery - he helps people just like himself get healthy, lose the weight and keep it off. Dr. Philip Ovadia is now a rebel M.D. working to keep people OFF his operating table.
