In this episode, Randy Pierce, experienced runner, hiker, and president of 2020 Vision Quest, shares the story of how a unknown neurological disorder cause him to loose his sight at the age of 22 and later become wheelchair bound. Randy recounts how his guide dog, the Mighty Quinn, was his inspiration in regaining his ability to walk. He discusses his and Quinn’s journey hiking all 48 of the over 4000 foot peaks in the New Hampshire White Mountains. Randy describes his experiences qualifying for the 2015 Boston Marathon in May. He explains his work with 2020 Vision Quest, which helps support the visually impaired community in achieving their goals. Lastly, Randy reveals details on his exciting 2015 Expedition to Mt. Kilimanjaro.
