Description
Spiritual Body to Making Peace with Food and Body Two questions that keep coming back from new members in our community: What does it mean to Go Beyond The Food? And then... Why would I need to Go Beyond The Food? These are GOOD questions and to be honest, a very good starting point for us to have a very powerful conversation. To answer these 2 questions, we must first recognize that for most of us, women, we’ve been trained since a young age via Diet Culture to seek a diet solution to our “food issues, weight and body” within the constraints of our physical body. The solution being to a-beat our body into shape and b-restrict our food. Ultimately, we’ve been deeply trained to believe that getting a thinner physical body would bring us health and happiness. Yet it doesn’t work. We know that and hence why you and I are here... Why doesn’t it work? Because our relationship to food and body doesn’t stem only from our physical body. Our desire to eat and shame ourselves originate from our mind, emotions, and spirit. That’s what I’ve found through my own struggle and later on what my training and education have taught me. The 4 layers of the human being are what we address in the Going Beyond The Food Method. It stems from a very old body of works in Holistic health. Today’s episode will deep dive into the spiritual body with Dr. Louise Swartswalter and its impact on the way we engage with food and body. In show 177, we spoke about the mental body with Christina Hylan. Upcoming in show 179, will talk about the physical body and show 180, will discuss emotional body. Finally, show 181 will talk about a unique aspect of human that has a tremendous impact our why we urge to eat or self-destruct via body shaming: our nervous system. In this episode I discuss The Spiritual Body to making peace with food and body How the spiritual body shows up in our day to day life What is energy medicine? How to begin to heal our spiritual body Last episode was an insightful interview with Christina Hyland as she talks about the Mental body and its impact on the way we engage with food and out body.
