    Chapter One: A Harbinger

    Judge Kane Solomon and his brother Damian had been prospecting for a new house for quite some time now. They had done their due diligence, looking around for a house that would be suitable for their purposes. So far, they had not found the right one. That was until they came upon the old manor on high ground.

    I heard that an old British Lord owned this property before. It's got quite the history behind it. Damian said.

    It is quite... expansive. Sitting in the middle of this sprawling land, and right in the middle of the city and the countryside. Why there's even a round balcony with a great view for miles in every direction. I think it will suit our purposes... perfectly. Judge Solomon said.

    Damian Solomon nodded and smiled. I'm glad you like it. It wasn't easy finding a property of this size, and considering everything we talked about the price is actually quite reasonable. Perhaps even a steal.

    Damian seemed more enthusiastic about the property than his brother, the judge. After all, he was the younger one, and the one with the more physical role in their mutual activity. Damian thought the placement of the mansion along with its spaciousness and high floors would provide him with the perfect hideaway for what he had to do.

    Judge Solomon was about to say something, when both brothers spotted an ominous figure above them. Both of them saw the large figure glide and finally alight on one of the trees that surrounded the mansion. They were both quite knowledgeable to identify it as an owl, and quite a large one, at that. Like most of its kind, the owl hooted and stared down at the two men with its large eyes.
