Outside Of Christ There Are Only The Walking Dead - Lila Langis
The Significance of Life Is Found in God’s Agape Love
S
ince GOD the Self-Existent ONE is the Author of Life, the Originator of all Life, let’s refer to the Book of Genesis to know how GOD intended mankind to experience life. We find, upon reading the First Chapter of the Bible, the Lord GOD from the beginning brought order to His Creation, and everything He created was refreshing and good, bountiful and magnificent. So from this we can deduce our Benevolent GOD intends life to be pleasant, peaceful, and satisfying.
Unfortunately through disobedience and rebellion, mankind detoured from the Holy Potentate’s righteous design to consequently become hopelessly lost and destructive, evidenced by the augmenting wickedness of our present world (1 John 5:19).
This departure from the Creator’s original plan has sadly negatively affected all of Creation, and it has had such devastating effect specifically on mankind as to leave him somewhat aimless and grasping for purpose. Fallen man actually suffers from an inner void, experienced as a yearning emptiness, resulting from a dead spirit caused by man’s broken relationship with his Creator.
Man continually seeks to soothe this spiritual void most often through worldly relationships, which prove to be a temporary diversion, for even a strong secular marriage eventually ends by the death of a spouse, leaving the other once again purposeless. Or one may attempt to neutralize his longing and need for GOD through busyness or involvement in sports or perhaps by engaging in false religion, which will never work and actually results in confusion and futility.
Restored fellowship with the One True GOD is the only solution to man’s inner turmoil. To this end, GOD mercifully offers everlasting peace and rest to those who choose to embrace His Holy Begotten Son, Jesus. He is the only solution to that inner void and those who have received Christ enjoy unending joy within, even in the midst of and despite unfavourable circumstances.
Fear and insecurity are defeated foes for those who live in the reality of GOD’s love. Children of GOD draw from the power of His love, strength and courage to face all obstacles (1 John 4:7-10). Jesus of Nazareth is the Only Way to the Tree of Life, which was placed from the beginning in the Garden of Eden; this Tree represents bountiful, wholesome, and Eternal Life.
Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew Him not.
(1 John 3:1)
Enoch a Mere Man Fully Embraced GOD’s Love
So in retrospect, from the Book of Genesis we learn the Creator’s way is harmony and order not chaos and confusion, and we also become aware His desire toward man is fellowship, not exclusion or isolation. GOD, to this day does everything to encourage man to open up to Him as our ancestral forefather, Enoch did. Enoch is one who valued his relationship with GOD over all else. He was but a human, a mere man who decided to commit his life to knowing and embracing GOD fully. We can follow his example by determining to develop passionate intimacy with our Heavenly Father.
The man Enoch chose well to believe in the power and reality of the Ancient of Days’ love for him. He was rewarded with GOD’s Presence and favour, because he honoured the goodness of GOD’s Nature and walked in assurance of the Divine’s righteous intentions toward him. As Followers of Christ, we must emulate Enoch’s attitude toward his GOD, for the Almighty is not a respecter of persons. What He did for Enoch He will do for us.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Then shall you call upon Me, and you shall go and pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you.
And you shall seek Me, and find Me, when you shall search for Me with all your heart.
(Jer. 29:11-13)
Enoch’s heart desire was obviously to know intimately the Magnificent ONE, to not only include Him in daily affairs, but rather to draw from El Shaddai the very essence of life. In his devotion to and faith in GOD, Enoch is a Type of Christ Jesus, Who exemplified intimacy with Father during His Life and ministry on Earth. This so delighted Father GOD that He openly declared His pleasure in His Only Begotten Son for all to hear (Mark 1:11).
Obviously, to our Saviour as well as to the Patriarch Enoch a moment outside of GOD was of no spiritual or earthly value. Jesus, our precious Man of GOD kept communion with His Heavenly Father as priority, never allowing human need or compelling ministry to interfere with His fellowship with GOD; He rather withdrew regularly to be alone with Father (Luke 5:15, 16). We know both Jesus and Enoch’s devotion were real, because they so moved GOD’s Heart that Father was compelled to take them to be with Him eternally (Gen. 5:24; Acts 1:9).
GOD’s Nature is to love and He impresses upon mankind to love is to live or living is for loving, not in an earthly sensual way, but from His Agape love. GOD’s Agape love is rich and deep; it is unselfish and un-failing. It is expressed in patience and hope, in kindness and meekness; GOD’s love is given freely for the benefit of others (1 Cor. 13:4-8). Agape love does not function from control or fear, thus causes no insecurity, or torment (1 John 4:18). GOD’s perfect Agape love is only available to those who flow from His Essence, who are Children of GOD and have Holy Spirit dwelling within.
Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God.
He who loves not knows not God; for God is love.
(1 John 4:7, 8)
As Brethren, we are to be bound together in Agape love as we carry GOD’s Heart for the lost. We are Christ’s Bride; we are betrothed to Him. Presently, there is no way for GOD to be closer to us than to indwell our Person. As we respond to His Essence within we are in intimate communion with Him, which is why the intimacy of the marriage bond is a reflection of our relationship with the Divine (Eph. 5:31-33).
It is to be noted, Jesus’ first miracle in His ministry on Earth was at a wedding feast, where He provided the best amazing wine. Because wine is a Type of Holy Spirit this miracle is a reflection of Christ making it possible, through His Crucifixion and Resurrection, for GOD’s Spirit to be poured out upon His Bride; and we, His Bride have the Marriage Supper of the Lamb to look forward to with anticipation.
Just over three years after that first miracle, Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion, at which time I believe He made reference to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb when He stated He would not drink again of the fruit of the vine until we drank together in GOD’s Kingdom (Matt. 26:29). The Marriage of the Lamb takes place just prior to Christ’s Second Coming, at which time we Saints accompany our Divine Husband to Earth to set up His Kingdom Reign (Rev. 19:6-9).
Hereby know we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God.
And we have known and believed the Love that God has to us. God is Love; and he who dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him.
(1 John 4:13-16)
The Redeemed have wonderful celebrations for which to look forward, while the un-saved in their sinful state suffer from deep-seated emptiness, a void which can only be satisfied by embracing Christ. The purpose of life is awakened in the Believer because Christ offered Himself as ransom; no one else died for the Salvation of mankind, not Mary His Mother, nor an Angel, nor any Saint, nor any other so-called holy man. Jesus Alone reconciled man with the Everlasting GOD; Jesus is the only Mediator between man and GOD (1 Tim. 2:5).
The need to worship someone or something is ingrained in man’s nature, so men who refuse Christ’s Saving Grace are then open to receive the counterfeits the enemy is happy to devise for them. This is the reason there are so many religions in
