Eleanor Stockert

Eleanor Stockert is a devoted wife, the mother of three married daughters, and the grandmother of five children. She has been a Christian since 1975, and over the last twenty years, she has had many opportunities to witness the reality of God’s love in her life. From the birth of a grandchild who was not expected to live to a life-threatening disease on her own body, Stockert has experienced God’s faithfulness to His word first-hand. She and her husband, Ernie, are very active in their church, and they visit hospitals, encouraging people by sharing God’s love with them and exhorting them to stand strong in their faith. Her ministry is to help establish new believers in their faith and to reach out to hurting people in the church and the community.

Author’s Preface

No one has all the Truth of God’s Word. God is just too big! I believe we will always be receiving new revelation of the Word. What I have written in the pages that follow is what I feel the Holy Spirit has revealed to me. You may question or even disagree with some of what is written. Please don’t allow that to upset you or discourage you from continuing reading. It is my prayer that this book will whet your appetite to seek the Spirit of God to find out the truth of this wonderful book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

Introduction

I have been serving the Lord for thirty years now, and I just can’t get over how awesome He really is! Even before I invited Jesus into my life, His love was always there reaching out for me. I prayed occasionally, especially when I was in trouble, and He was always there with me through each storm in my life. I believed in God and knew about Him, but I really didn’t know Him until one cold February night in 1975 when I met Him personally by accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

During those years of searching for God, I had a neighbor who was a Christian, and she would tell me about the book of Revelation. Even though I was not born-again, I still found it to be so intriguing and developed a special love for this book. When I read Revelation, it was both thrilling and frightening to me at the same time.

After becoming a Christian I would hear preachers and church people alike say no one can ever really understand the book of Revelation, that God moves in mysterious ways and some of His ways are beyond understanding. But that’s untrue. According to II Timothy 3:16-17:

ALL SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

God even promises a blessing to all who read the book of Revelation; chapter 1:3 states, Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. The Lord also tells us that He has hidden many truths in His Word for true believers who really love Him and want to fulfill His Will for their lives by searching the scriptures for those truths. Mark 4:22-23 bears this out: For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.

Understanding the book of Revelation comes in the same way that believers receive anything from God—by grace through faith. We must believe that it is His will for us to understand what has been written and that through the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit our minds will be illuminated to see the future events that will soon come to pass on the earth. Every time you read the book of Revelation, believe that you receive more revealed knowledge. Become a disciple of God’s Word and your faith will release an understanding of end-time events.

As you begin this book pray this prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of your dear Son Jesus Christ. I want to know the truth concerning the book of Revelation. I thank you that you have sent your Holy Spirit to lead me and teach me your Word. Thank you for the promise of blessing that you gave to me in Revelation 1: 3; Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. I believe you desire for me to know and understand the book of Revelation and I bless you and thank you for opening my spiritual eyes to these wonderful truths in your Word. Amen.

I’ve never had anything enrich my spiritual life as much as studying the book of Revelation. It has opened up many other parts of the Word of God that I previously found hard to understand. It has shown me just how great God’s Love is and how very much He longs to be with His children. The fear I felt so many years ago has been replaced with both great faith in and anticipation toward God’s final plans for the earth. The
