    I could smell the beach as I rolled down the back window of Mrs. Clark’s SUV. The sun was so bright I had to put my sunglasses on. Palm trees lined the sides of the street.
    “I can’t believe we’re finally here,” My best friend Jimmy said.
    “It was only a five-hour drive,” Mrs. Clark said from the front seat.
    “Only?” Jimmy said.
    “It wasn’t too bad, was it Dennis?”
    “No, ma’am,” I said. “Not too bad.”
    I was lying a little bit, it was pretty boring, especially after my phone died. But we were here now, Sugar Beach.
    Every year I would go on a week-long vacation with the Clarks, it was a tradition and this year was going to be special, I could feel it. Jimmy and I had both turned eighteen, me about four months ago, and Jimmy just two months ago. We were both single, and ready to find some girls.
    Mrs. Clark turned off the main highway onto White Sands Drive. I knew we were close.
    We drove by the big fake pirate ship that was actually an ice cream shop, I could taste that creamy goodness. Jimmy and I would for sure be back up here at some point.
    Mrs. Clark had all the windows down now, and that fresh sea air filled the SUV. We drove for about fifteen more minutes, Sugar Beach is not built up with high-rises like lots of beach towns, it’s mostly houses and not much else, which makes it really relaxing.
    We turned onto a crushed shell road and Mrs. Clark pointed to a big turquoise house on stilts with a pointed white roof. “That’s us.”
    “It looks awesome!” Jimmy said.
    “Totally.”
    “Looks like Aunt Mindy and Uncle Ken are here already.”
    “Awesome!” Jimmy said.
    “We’ll go in and check things out before unloading all our stuff,” Mrs. Clark said.
    She parked her SUV right behind Mindy and Ken’s white convertible sports car. The three of us got out and hurried up the stairs. Mindy and Ken must’ve seen us coming because they were waiting for us on the big front porch.
    Mindy squealed when she saw her sister, Mrs. Clark, and they wrapped each other up in a big hug. Meanwhile, Ken walked over to Jimmy and squeezed mine and his shoulders, very tightly. Ken was a big man with floppy black hair and a black mustache, he grinned at both of us. “If it isn’t the dork twins.”
    “Uncle Ken! Come on!” Jimmy said. “We’re grown up now stop calling us that.”
    Ken chuckled. “Grown? You two? That’ll never happen.”
    “It did!” I said, standing up for us.
    Ken chuckled again and let us go. “Still not old enough to buy beer,” he said, then he headed inside.
    I looked at Jimmy. He was rubbing his shoulder and shaking his head. Before we could recover, we got attacked by Aunt Mindy, which wasn’t nearly as bad as our encounter with Uncle Ken.
    She wrapped up Jimmy in a tight hug, so tight his eyes bulged. He wasn’t ready for it and it made me laugh. I stood back as Mindy looked him up and down.
    “My, you’ve grown so much, Jimmy,” she said, making my buddy blush.
    She had his hands, squeezing them. I took a moment to admire Mindy. She was a beautiful brunette in her early thirties, a natural beauty with long, straight hair, a sweet smile, and an absolutely killer body. She wore a peach-colored crochet poncho and a tight pair of white shorts. Some thin silver bracelets jangled around her wrist. Sometimes I got a hippy vibe from Mindy.
    I was about to laugh at Jimmy’s blushing, but then Mindy turned to me. I looked into her dazzling green eyes as she looked me up and down. She bit her lower lip and made a noise deep down in her throat, kinda like a purring sound, but sexier. I felt my face go hot.
    Mindy wrapped me up in a tight hug. “Oh Dennis, you’ve grown such much as well. I can’t believe you and Jimmy are both young men now.” She held me at arm’s length and looked me up and down again.
