I dedicate this book to the women who are making a difference in the InformationTechnology World. I dedicate this book to all the women in the world who are striving to make a difference in the world of technology. My goal is to help empower women from all backgrounds and countries.
In this book, I’ll be sharing real life experiences I’ve had in the IT industry. Yes, we all face challenges in our careers, and yes, we’ll get through them. I hope you’re ready to laugh, cry, and connect. When we connect, we grow.
Everything in this book are factual topics that relate what is going on in the workforce being a woman. Just know and trust that you are capable of anything and never give up on your dreams and what you are passionate about. Maybe someone shares your enthusiasm and admiration for all that you’ve grown to be.
To the reader of this book, who is aware that their voice has not been heard, know that I am speaking on your behalf and I sincerely hope that the Information Technology field will undergo positive changes and shifts to a state of equality for all.

Introduction
I am so excited for this book and sharing my experience in my field with you. As I look back on my career, it has been a rollercoaster of highs, lows, and surprises. I started writing this book at the lowest point of my life. You will read and experience it in just a few chapters because I am already a winner. You thought you could stop me, but you can’t. Nothing can stop me now, and I’m still going strong. You tried to stop me, but it didn’t stop me. It just held me back and made me keep going.
Each chapter introduces a reality that takes place in the workplace. Sometimes we do the right thing at the right time, but we don’t have the leadership and mentorship to be the leaders that overcome conflict. We also want it to be positive and encouraging, like a phoenix rising from the ashes.
When you have a dream, you pursue it regardless of the challenges that may come your way. One of my favorite poems by the legendary phenomenal woman, Maya Angelou - Still I Rise
. I remember hearing this beautiful poem when I was a child attending Elisha M. Pease Elementary School. Till this day I have a copy of this poem in a picture frame in my closet to remind myself that I am not the only woman going through these struggles and becoming better with struggle and being confident in my skin.
I would describe my personality as being a kindred spirit at times. I can be a bit reserved at times. I have a fun side of me that comes out when she is comfortable around people. I try to screen people to see what people’s energy is like. Do you have good energy or bad energy? I am a person who likes being around people and has a good heart. Sometimes it’s okay to leave behind people who do not have the same goals as you do.
I often struggled with finding a sense of belonging because I am a very unique individual. I also like to keep my personal life a secret because everyone doesn’t have your best interests at heart. Some people will be there for you to help you do good things and inspire you, and others will be praying for your downfall. I continue to use my good fortune to bring goodness into the world and not evil. I will always remain humble no matter how much wealth I possess. I have nothing to boast about because
