INTRODUCTION
It’s Wednesday around 5:14pm EST and I’m sitting here thinking about my life. Thinking about all of the sacrifices I’ve made, all of the people I’ve helped, all of the lives I’ve forever changed, and every single adversity that’s tried to take me out along the way. It’s 5:14pm EST and I’m sitting at home, writing. Writing from the heart. Writing from a place I haven’t been able to sit with for quite some time. Writing from a place that in this moment, is hyper saturated with some straight up bi-polar feelings. I’m both tired and energized. Sad and happy. Confused and clear. Patient and anxious. Reflective and in denial. Worried and relieved. All things present and yet, all I can do is call it processing. LOL. Processing which will, according to my past, lead me to clarity and a pathway forward. Or so I hope. While today feels like a hot-ass mess for many reasons that include feeling undermined, being overlooked for an opportunity, having someone take credit for my work, being silenced in a room full of men, etc., what I know is that tomorrow’s story will feel the same unless I figure out a way to constructively deal with how I feel which includes coming up with a plan for how I’ll be addressing my issues of today, tomorrow.
As I look out of the window steadily drawing mental blanks, I’m reminded that everything and everyone has a story… a history. A history that continues to help shape and mold us into who we are today and who we will become moving forward. My history is one full of deep adversity, worry, excitement, reward,
