Dandelion Poetry - Vicki du Toit

    Prologue

    W

elcome to a journey through the human

experience. In this book of poetry and thoughts,

we explore the highs and lows of life, delving

into the complexities of emotion and

introspection. As you navigate these pages,

prepare to embark on a voyage of self-discovery.

Through the power of words, we delve into the

depths of our hearts and minds, uncovering

    beauty, confronting pain, and celebrating

    resilience.

Types of introspection, embracing the rich

tapestry of human emotion and experience.

Together, let us navigate the labyrinth of our

innermost selves, unraveling the complexities of

    our thoughts, feelings, and memories.

    Dear me

I am a symphony of all my scars,

Of every lesson learned and every journey far.

I am a canvas, painted with every hue,

Of every smile, and every laugh,

    and every 'I love you'.

    NO

Oh, if only I could've learned to say 'no' a

    little sooner,

The pain I could've spared, the freedom I'd

    have known.

That simple word, so easy to ignore,

But the power it holds is so much more

    Judgement

We get so caught up in judgement, in placing

    others down,

That we forget the harm it does, the

    negativity it brings around.

We fail to see the beauty in diversity, in

    diꢀerences that make us whole,

And instead we focus on the petty things that

consume us and take their toll.

So let's strive to be more understanding, to

    see the world with empathy,

To embrace the unique qualities of you and

    me and all humanity.

    Let's choose kindness
