About this ebook

This is the story of Yvonne Wilson, an accountant, and Oliver, a grossly overweight black-and-white tuxedo cat. Yvonne witnesses an execution-style murder of three people. Even with limited police protection and the promise of being put in the witness protection program, Yvonne fully realizes that MS-13 gang members or the mob are going to kill her. The mob has hired MS-13 gang members to expedite the matter.

After believing that she is in a hopeless dilemma, Yvonne notices a huge black-and-white tuxedo cat that has just appeared in her living room. He is a talking cat named Oliver. Oliver explains that he was sent from heaven to protect Yvonne from the MS-13 gang members and the mob. He assures her that the mob/MS-13 cannot harm her. He will protect her until she dies a natural death.

Yvonne soon realizes that Oliver can back up what he says. He has supernatural powers. He is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipotent (all-powerful), omnipresent (can be in more than one place at the same time), and clairvoyant (can see into the future). Oliver is here for the duration. He will never leave her. After a while, Yvonne and Oliver grow on each other. They become inseparable.

The story is full of love, and there is a human and feline bonding. Yvonne often shoots it out with MS-13 gang members and mobsters. Although close to a deity, Oliver does have some faults. He is always on a thin line between being a law officer and an outlaw. After he becomes an FBI agent, he takes some of his salary and donates the rest to charity. When he is short of cash, he prints $100 bills in Yvonne's basement. Since the bills are real, he can't be accused of counterfeiting.

    About the Author

    Introduction

This is the story of Yvonne Wilson and a black-and-white tuxedo cat named Oliver. The reader should be familiar with the background material of these two characters. The two of them did not meet accidentally; destiny put them together. Yvonne so desperately needed protection and refuge from evil powers in the world. Oliver would be the one to supply that needed protection to Yvonne. Let's start from the get-go.

Yvonne is a young single woman who works for an accounting firm. Occasionally, she has to work late. It may be dark outside before she can leave the office. However, her parking lot is well lit. Since she is a licensed handgun owner, she often carries a snub-nosed .38 Special revolver in her purse. At this point, it should be mentioned that snub-nosed revolvers are very inaccurate. However, they are very effective at close range, less than ten feet away.

One evening, while going to her car from work, she witnesses an execution-style murder in the parking lot. There were two men and one woman on their knees with their hands behind their neck. The assailants, two men, shot all three of them in the back of the head, killing them. As the two men turned to her, she managed to get a cell photo of them. She also is able to describe them without the photo. The men and Yvonne panic. The men are in a hesitant stage of fright. Yvonne fires two shots at them with her snub-nosed revolver and misses both times. Now although Yvonne got a good look at these two men, they also got a good look at her.

Yvonne then calls 911. The police arrive and take her statement. They bring her downtown and interrogate her all night long. The police take Yvonne's picture of the men. After blowing it up, a lieutenant recognizes both men as MS-13 gang members who are associated with the mob. The police don't tell Yvonne, but her life isn't worth two cents right now. Yvonne has identified two MS-13 gang members as murderers who work for the mob.

For agreeing to testify against these guys, the district attorney has promised to put her in the witness protection program. This is all well and good. However, whether Yvonne is in the witness protection program or not doesn't matter. Yvonne is going to end up dead. The two MS-13 gang members know what she looks like and know where she works. By now, they probably have her name and address too. Since the mob is everywhere, Yvonne won't know who is friend or foe. The cops who first interrogated her might even be the enemy.

The police find the two MS-13 gang members and arrest them. It isn't too difficult as their pictures are plastered all over the city. The DA decides that there is sufficient evidence to go to trial. The two gang members are out on bond as a jury has to be picked. There will be attempts on the part of the gang and the mob to silence Yvonne. Her death would mean no trial, and the gang members would go free. So it's in the best interests of the gang and the mob that Yvonne turns up dead.

Yvonne has around-the-clock police protection. After she testifies, a couple of months down the road, she will be put in the witness protection program. Now in the witness protection program, people are not really protected. They are simply moved to a safer location. They may be given a modest amount of money for living expenditures called a stipend. They may even be given new identities. After that, they are pretty much on their own. Unless there is some sort of divine intervention, this will be Yvonne's fate too. Her family members are still at risk. The upside of this is that her family is not closely knit. She is really alone in her family tree.

The trial may be further away than everyone thinks. It will probably take a couple of months just to select the jury. There may even have to be a change of venue. Although the police are around Yvonne all the time, the police can't be with her every second. She owns an old ten-room farmhouse on twelve acres of land. It would be very easy for an assassin to wait for her somewhere on the property.

The farmhouse itself is not very secure. A five-year-old can break into it without too much trouble. She is especially scared when she takes her evening shower just before bedtime. She takes her snub-nosed revolver with her into the shower and to bed. She is ready to shoot any attacker who comes her way. Of course, to hit the person, it will have to be at point-blank range.

Yvonne gets all kinds of threats of bodily harm on her landline phone. She turns them over to the cops, who apparently can't do much about them. Apparently, the bad guys don't have her cell phone number yet. But it's only a matter of time before the threats start coming on her cell phone too. These threats have a way of gnawing away at Yvonne. She knows that her days are numbered. There's no Social Security in the future for her.

She used to like taking strolls in the wooded area of her property. But she doesn't do that anymore. It may be too dangerous. The cops have advised against it. She used to also swing in her hammock in the shade of an elm tree. Those days are gone now. It's not even safe to sit on the back porch anymore.

After the trial, she'll be whisked off to some new and unknown location for the rest of her life. The big question is, Can the cops protect her, and what happens after she goes off to her new home? The trial still remains a long way off as a jury is still being picked. If the prosecution accepts a juror, the defense rejects the juror. If the defense accepts a juror, the prosecution rejects the juror. On top of that, no one wants to be a juror in this particular trial because it puts one's life in danger. Some jurors, who were picked, received threats. Now these people want out of the jury system. The trial requires twelve jurors and four to six juror alternates. Most candidates are being outright rejected for one reason or another.

The cops have repeatedly told Yvonne that they have her covered. They assure her that neither the MS-13 gang nor the mob can harm her. However, everyone knows that this is bullshit. In all probability, she's a dead woman, and she knows it. One would think that her deposition as to what happened would be sufficient. However, the prosecution has told her that she must testify in court. Yvonne is going to have to expose herself in the courtroom to imminent dangers of the gang and the mob.

At home in her living room, she sometimes reflects upon what she might have done differently. Perhaps, if after firing her snub nose, she should have just taken off and not told anybody, especially the cops. But the murderers had a good description of her, and they knew where she worked. They probably would come after her anyway. Perhaps, if she had seen what was going on when she left the building, she could have turned around and gone back into her building. There, she could have decided whether to call the cops or to just hide out till the ruckus was over. Then again, if her snub nose was accurate at all, she could have killed those two guys and just left the scene. Perhaps, if she had stayed at her job a little longer, she would have missed the entire affair. Someone else would have discovered those three bodies.

Another factor is that protecting Yvonne is really taking a toll out of the city's budget. Watching over Yvonne involves a lot of overtime money for the detectives and officers. The police department is taking money from every other department to ensure that Yvonne doesn't get killed by MS-13 gang members or the mob. Of late, there have been fewer and fewer detectives watching her. This is because of whatever budget there was is now depleted. Most of the detectives, to defray costs, have voluntarily accepted straight-time pay in lieu of overtime pay. Some detectives are volunteering hours pro bono.

The city council meets in an emergency session to resolve the problem. The conclusion is that Yvonne's protecting forces will have to be greatly curtailed. Some days and nights, she has no protection at all. The council is also meeting with state and federal officials to see if they can help. They can supply little assistance. By now, the city has virtually ended its protection of Yvonne. She is now relying on the state and the Feds. Now she carries her snub nose everywhere, even in the shower. Up till now, she has only received threats on her life. She feels that the gang and mob are about to carry through with their threats.

One day, the Feds approach her with an idea. They want to hide Yvonne right now before the trial begins. She would be in the witness protection program before and after the trial. She would have to forfeit her job though. Who would take care of her house? Nobody! She agrees to try it out for a while. The Feds put her on a farm for the summer. She is supposed to be an immigrant who speaks very little English. Fortunately, she can maneuver around in the Spanish language.

The days are long in the fields. She also has to take abuse from the people who run the place. The chief of police, the farm manager, and an FBI guy are the only ones who know her true identity. She carries her snub nose strapped to her in a concealed fashion. As far as the world is concerned, she is an immigrant from Mexico. She hates her job and the place. It seems that the farm is not subject to the rules of the outside world. On the farm, she is not a lady. She is a woman there for the taking. On more than one occasion, she has pulled her snub nose and threatened to make eunuchs out of some of the guys in the field. She knows she has to be careful though. She is undercover and has to stay undercover if she expects to wake up the next day. Shooting some guy in the balls would only alert the world as to her whereabouts.

As of right now, Yvonne has no outside protection against the gang or the mob. Yvonne needs a white knight in shining armor. But there is none in sight, at least as far as she can see. Apparently, the cops don't realize that if Yvonne doesn't live to testify, the two executioners will probably go free. Yvonne is becoming very depressed. It's only a matter of time now when she becomes a statistic.

One evening, when she returns to her room on the farm, there is someone waiting for her. The man pulls a gun and fires a shot. The bullet hits her in the chest, in a shirt pocket. Inside the pocket is a small book. The bullet is lodged in the book. Falling backward, Yvonne pulls out her snub nose and returns fire. She fires two shots. Both bullets hit the man in the chest. He is dead on the floor.

Knowing the situation, the farm manager calls the chief of police. The chief comes right over. The chief identifies the dead man on the floor as an FBI agent. Apparently, the FBI agent was working for the mob too. The chief has to get Yvonne out of there in a hurry. The story will be on the five o'clock news, hopefully not the entire story.

The chief manages to successfully whisk Yvonne off to a rehabilitation home. She is there on the supposition that she is there only temporarily due to a bout with depression. Only the chief and the owner of the home know the truth. The orders are that she be left alone and that someone will be in to give her medication. Since the home consists mostly of geriatrics, she won't be shooting any young whippersnappers in the balls. The orders are that she is to keep all her possessions that she came with. The owner of the home doesn't know about her snub nose.

The reading material that Yvonne has is a small book that was shot up by an FBI agent. All is well for at least a couple of days. One day, a visitor comes to visit his mother. Yvonne is inside her room. The door is open. She sees the man talking to his mother. Yvonne discreetly calls the chief and tells him that one of the murderers is there at the rehabilitation home. She doesn't know if she was recognized or not. The chief is taking no chances. He immediately removes her from the rehabilitation home. With no place else to bring her, he brings her back to her house. He assigns a detective 24-7 to watch the outside of the house. Yvonne has his cell phone number. This goes on for a number of weeks. There should be a jury formed in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, in the heavenly realm, the Creator has decided to intervene on Yvonne's behalf. He is about to send Yvonne's white knight in shining armor. He is going to send a black-and-white tuxedo cat named Oliver. In the feline world, Oliver is a huge cat. He towers over most other felines. He is tall, muscular, and on the other side of thirty pounds. Even without his supernatural powers, he can handle himself well. He has sharp teeth and claws. He is as big as many canines.

Even with his towering size and strength, his ancestors—Harvey, Marvin, Dexter, and Beckett—agree that someone else should be sent instead. Perhaps the Creator should send a canine or at least a more experienced feline. The problem is that Oliver is very inexperienced with his powers of omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence, and clairvoyance. Perhaps Oliver can have some more training in regard to his powers as well as the areas of Reprobate City, the infernal regions, and the heavenly realm. Oliver must also learn techniques of handling people, especially in difficult situations. Although Oliver is a big cat, he is less than two years old. His ancestors feel he needs more time to develop and mature emotionally and psychologically. At this stage, Oliver can prove to be clumsy as a mentor and protector of Yvonne.

As the Creator's will is final, his ancestors give Oliver some crash courses in what makes the human act the way he does. Oliver practices with his omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence, and clairvoyance. Harvey, Marvin, Dexter, and Beckett give Oliver some test cases for practice. Oliver has a long way to go as a protector of Yvonne. Oliver learns all about the heavenly realm, hell, and Reprobate City. Hopefully, he can remember humans go to what place.

As in Harvey's, Marvin's, Dexter's, and Beckett's cases, Oliver has some fallacies and weaknesses in certain areas. For instance, even though he is near-perfect, Oliver has inherited some imperfections from his ancestors. He is afraid of the dark, likes to watch DVDs that result in nightmares, and loves Land O'Lakes cheese. Oliver can get sick from the cheese even though he is impervious to sickness, disease, or death. Try to explain that one.

Oliver is very anxious to start his assignment. He feels he must prove himself worthy of the Creator's love for him. He must also show Harvey, Marvin, Dexter, and Beckett that he is capable of carrying out his assignment to completion. Oliver is certainly bucking at the starting gate. Lastly, he has to get to Yvonne before the MS-13 gang and the mob do. The quicker that he surrounds her with his umbrella protection, the better off she will be. Once on the scene, Oliver must quickly prove to Yvonne that he was sent by the Creator to protect her. Yvonne has been praying for the Creator to send her a protector. Yvonne doesn't know it yet, but that someone is a large black-and-white tuxedo cat named Oliver.

The Creator tells Harvey, Marvin, Dexter, and Beckett that they can stand by if Oliver runs into trouble. All four are ready to move at a moment's notice. The Creator has also informed them that their services won't be needed. The Creator also says that Oliver will do very well on his own. Since Yvonne is single and doesn't have any children, Oliver can concentrate on Yvonne and no one else. Oliver will be fighting the MS-13 gang, the mob, and a whole host of others who are pretending to be on Yvonne's side. It's a situation where nobody can be trusted, even the authorities.

The night before his departure, the Creator gives Oliver a farewell party. Oliver's mother reaches up and gives him a big kiss. He receives hugs and kisses from all his relatives. The Creator reminds Oliver that He is tuned in to Oliver's mind at all times. Their minds are one. Their spirits are one. Their wills are one. The Creator reminds Oliver that his primary reason for going to Earth is to protect Yvonne from harm. Also, Oliver is well aware that he cannot be hurt or killed as he has a spiritual body. The Creator has certainly provided Oliver with all the tools he will need to accomplish his mission.

    Chapter 1

    The Bonding

At this point, all should know that Oliver volunteered for this assignment. All his ancestors also volunteered for this assignment. However, the Creator wanted Oliver to get some battlefield experience. Finally, Oliver leaves the heavenly realm and heads for planet Earth. Oliver arrives at Yvonne's farmhouse. He walks through the walls and into the house so as not to alert the outside detective. Yvonne is sitting on the couch facing the television. She is watching television and reading a book at the same time. At a forty-five-degree angle from the couch is a chair facing Yvonne. Oliver gets into the chair and is staring at Yvonne. Finally, Yvonne notices Oliver.

Yvonne: What the hell are you?

Oliver: My name is Oliver. The Creator sent me to protect you. I am the answer to your prayers. I am your ‘white knight' in shining armor.

Yvonne: Wait a minute! Cats don't talk.

Oliver: Well, this one does. I communicate via mental telepathy.

Yvonne: Well, I pray for a ‘white knight' in shining armor, and the Creator sends me an oversize cat. You are the biggest cat I've ever seen.

Oliver: I am the biggest cat anyone has ever seen. Let's get down to business.

Yvonne: Okay, Oliver, start talking. I am still not sure why you are here.

Oliver: I was sent here by the Creator to protect you from evil forces. Right now, you think that you are being protected by the authorities, but their protection is only going to get you killed. If you didn't have your snub-nosed revolver at the farm, that phony FBI agent would have killed you. Luckily, you left the rehabilitation home when you did. That night, that gang member returned to the home. He was looking for you. He certainly would have killed you if given the opportunity. Both times, you were one step ahead of the gang and the mob.

Oliver continues: The authorities no longer have the desire or the finances to protect you 24-7. Your protection dissipates more and more every day. Soon, you will have no outside protection at all. I am the only protection you will need. I have already surrounded you with my umbrella protection. I will be with you 24-7. I will not forsake you. I will not leave you. I will be right beside you all the time.

Yvonne: Are you going to be in the shower with me too?

Oliver: Yes, I'll be in the shower with you too. In a week or so, those people at the courthouse will have fulfilled their jury requirements. Those gang members will be on trial by the end of the month.

Yvonne: I can't wait till this is over so I can live a normal life.

Oliver: Yvonne, this ordeal will never be over. You will never be able to live a normal life. Even after those guys are in prison, other gang members and the mob will want you dead. It's sort of like a lesson to others who may want to do the same thing. When those keystone cops drop you after the trial, you will be an easy hit for the gang or the mob. That's where I come in. I am not going to let that happen to you.

Yvonne: The cops promised me a new identity in the witness protection program.

Oliver: What the cops promised and what they do are two different things. They will drop you off in another area of the country. They may even give you a stipend allowance each month. Unless you have outside financial sources, you are not going to like the arrangement. It's a twofold problem: [1] You'll be in an unfamiliar place with no friends or relatives, and [2] you will be at an economic disadvantage to all the people around you. I won't let that happen to you. I will protect you till the day you pass on into eternity. One day you will be in the heavenly realm with the Creator.

Yvonne: So what do I do?

Oliver: Live a life that's normal to you. Listen to what I have to say every once in a while. You may even go back to work if you want. Your boss would be glad to have you back in the office. The cops will be glad to get you out of their hair.

Yvonne: Won't I be exposed to the forces of evil?

Oliver: No. I will always be with you. It's part of my omnipresent powers. I can be in several places all at once. I am your shield against the outside forces. In the near future, there will be several evil people who will try to kill you. But I will stop all of them. My shield is around you, and the Creator's shield is around me.

Yvonne: What do I have to do in this little scenario?

Oliver: Just live your life normally and let me handle everything. You may as well let me take over anyway. Tomorrow, the chief of police is going to tell you that you have no more police protection. He is out of money and out of detectives who will work pro bono. Officially, you'll be alone with your snub-nosed revolver. However, this oversize cat will be in your corner.

The next morning, the chief does call and informs Yvonne that he cannot supply any more police protection. The chief doesn't know about Oliver. In the following days, Oliver and Yvonne become real pals. Yvonne has become accustomed to having Oliver in the shower with her. She even gets her old job back. She is a new person. Nothing seems to bother her. With everyone trying to kill her, she is confident of a bright and prospering future. Some of her cohorts have nicknamed her the Ice Woman.

One evening, as she and Oliver are walking out to her car, Oliver tells her that the old lady pushing a shopping cart is not who she portrays herself to be. She is actually a mob hit man. With his spirit protecting Yvonne, Oliver approaches the make-believe old lady with a shopping cart.

Oliver: Mister, I have made your weapon inoperable. You won't hurt anyone tonight or in the future.

By now, Yvonne can see and hear everything going on.

Mob man: If I don't kill the bitch, someone else will.

Oliver: Begone to Reprobate City, never to return.

The man and the shopping cart disappear. Yvonne and Oliver get into her car.

Yvonne: How did you make that guy disappear?

Oliver: I sent him to Reprobate City.

Yvonne: Where and what is Reprobate City?

Oliver: "Reprobate City is a place where living people go because they are too terrible to live on planet Earth. They are sent there where they have a zombielike existence. It's a place of millions and millions of acres where the inhabitants wander around aimlessly till they pass on. Once they die, they pass right into hell. In Reprobate City, they are mindless. Their minds are returned to them once they become residents of hell. The place is filled with metallic-like wheat fields. The entire place is made of a metal called titanium, except
