#1 I went to visit Aaron to talk about our relationship. I wanted to forgive him, but it might take time. I promised I would never throw his affair back in his face, but I might need to be honest about my feelings when I was hurting.

#2 I would soon find out that there were wolves lurking outside the house, waiting for the right moment to strike. They had been following us from afar, and had silently entered the house when we were sleeping.

#3 The body’s natural defense is the fight-or-flight response. It prepares us to take action, but we must remain calm and listen to get as much information as possible.

#4 The Voice told me to lie down on the floor, face down, and not to look up. I did as he said, hanging my head with my hair draped across the sides of my face. As I left the bed, two pairs of legs dressed in all black followed me right behind me.
