My Father

I feel my father with me

Though he died a long time ago

I can feel his presence by me

And believe he watched me, mature and grow

I wish, that I had known him

Knew that relationship of a son and Dad

Not having a father as I grew up

Was for me so dreadfully sad

My mum was really wonderful

She raised us to be honest and proud

The four of us were a handful

We really were quite a crowd

I came first, and they had a dispute over my name

Mum wanted to call me Anthony, which is not too bad

Dad wanted to call me Kevin

Which would have been (hock spit) really sad

So, they compromised, and named me Michael
