    About the Author

    Introduction

This book is to let the reader understand more about the words in the Holy Bible. It starts out with a word. Then a question is asked what the word means, then is given an answer. Then it is followed up with a scripture verse from the Holy Bible. The purpose of this book is to give the reader more understanding of the words of the gospel. Jesus talked of these words that are in the Holy Bible. The verses in this book are from the English Standard Version Bible.

    Persecute

What does this word mean? It means to subject someone to hostility and ill treatment, especially because of their ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation. What the Bible says about persecute is that someone means to continually treat them badly and make them suffer—for example, of their political or religious beliefs.

But I say to you. Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. (Matthew 5:44)

    Give

We have, at some time in our life, given something to someone. What is it to give? It means to freely transfer the possession of something to someone. God owns everything because He is the Creator, Maker, and giver of all things. So when we give, we are merely giving back a portion of what belongs to God.

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7)

    Iniquity

What is it to have iniquity? As found in the Bible, iniquity is defined as being wicked or immoral in nature or a character, but the character of an action, and is distinguished from sin.

The rock, His work is perfect, for all His ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is He. (Deuteronomy 32:4)

    Ask

We, at some point, have asked for something. What is it to ask, or what is ask? It is to say something in order to obtain an answer of information, request someone to do, or give something.

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask something in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13–14)
