Born Again or New-Birth Experience
What does it mean to be born again? Or what does it mean to be born of God? (see 1 John 3:9).
To begin with, there happens to exist diverse definitions for the above terminology. However, the author has his own version of meaning as far as the aforesaid term is concerned.
Born again implies a spiritual illumination (spiritual birth) that a person experiences after confessing and/or receiving Christ Jesus into his life as his personal Savior and Lord. The spiritual birth is likened to the physical birth from your biological mother, yet different, because it makes you a child of God—that is, a brand-new person from within.
Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave them the right to become children of God. (1 John 1:12, NIV)
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV)
Thus, having the new life in Christ is a product of His divine grace through faith.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8–9, NIV)
Born again implies the new life of Christ within you, which can only occur under the influence of the Holy Spirit (see Titus 3:5, NIV).
Born again also means the second coming of the Spirit of God to man as well (see Acts 2:38, NIV).
Here are two core questions we have to ask ourselves: Who needs to be born again? (see John 3). Am I really born again? (Examine yourself.) Why? This is because we are strongly advised never to boast in this life if our names are not written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Then I saw a great white throne and him who seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled in his presence and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then dead and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was
