About this ebook

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee: and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee and I ordained thee (Jeremiah 1:5)
The Lord declares that before He formed us, He knew us, sanctified us and ordained us to greater destiny. The Lord further decrees that the thoughts He thinks toward us will always have a positive impact on our lives. Yet, we are not experiencing these promises. Rather, we find ourselves living beneath our privilege and accepting defeat. Why? Is it because we have chosen to accept how the world defines us and labels us, instead of proclaiming what God has spoken about us? Does our speech line up and agree with what God says about us? Our tongue is the pen of a ready writer. (Psalm 45:1) What are our tongues writing? Do we speak defeat or victory?
This book has been written to challenge us to find out what God says about us and to apply His Words to our lives. When we speak the promises, proclamation and pronouncements of God into our spirits and out into the atmosphere, we will reach the expected potential that God has preordained for our lives.
Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that precedes out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)

    About the Author

The LORD declares to Jeremiah, before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou came forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee and ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5) Although the Lord is speaking to Jeremiah in this passage of scripture, He is also speaking that same truth to the believer today. God formed us, therefore, He knows all about us. Additionally, He has set us apart, called us to be different for His purpose to proclaim His Name and to exhibit His nature (character) throughout the nations. Further, the Lord has declared that His thoughts towards us are of peace, not of evil, and will always have a positive impact (to make us successful) in our lives (Jeremiah 29:11). Our challenge is to discover what God has ultimately said about us and to learn how to walk out what He has said about us. By doing so, we fulfill our position as Kingdom Dwellers (on earth), exhibit Kingdom authority and show His Kingdom to the world.

I am come that you might have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10b)

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. I thank, first and foremost, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who by impartation of His Holy Spirit and wisdom inspired me and allowed me to pen this book. Without Him, I would not have a clue of the power and potential He has for me (and you) through His Word. Second, I would like to thank Pastor William F. Smith, Sr., Evangelist Denise Smith, of the Truth Memorial Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Pastor Jeffery Tate and Evangelist Lois Tate, of The Word Church of Philadelphia, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, all of whom encouraged me to write down what God was speaking into my spirit that it might be shared with the body of Christ. Third, I thank my mother, Elsie J. Johnson for her unfailing support, advisement and prayers. Finally, as always, I thank my immediate family and my extended family for your words of encouragement and the space you gave me to complete another one of my God-sized assignments. May God continue to keep and bless all of you. To God be the glory for the things he has done and will continue to do through you.

…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63)

    INTRODUCTION

When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, some say that thou art John the Baptist, some Elias; and others Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. (Matthew 16:13-16)

In these passages, Jesus asked two questions: what was the outsider’s, the distant follower’s view of him and what was the disciples’, the closely connected ones’ view of Him? What was their perception of Him? How did others perceive Him to be and how did the disciples perceive Him to be? Each perception began with a premise (comparison). Then an opinion was formed, rather it was good, bad or indifferent. The perception of Christ from those with only a casual or distant relationship revealed ambiguity, uncertainty. To the distant follower, Jesus’ ministry of repentance, healing, deliverance and preaching reminded them of John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah or some other prophet. Therefore, they perceived Jesus to be one of those prophets. It was far from the truth. However, the perception of Christ by those who had a close relationship with him was different. The disciples were privy to things that the outsiders did not observe. The disciples had an up close and personal hands on relationship with Jesus. Therefore, they knew Who He was. Even Simon Peter offered this statement of profound truth when Jesus asked, "but who do you
