When the disciples asked Jesus what the signs of His second coming and the end of the world would be, the first thing He said was, “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Matt 24:4). Note how Luke quotes Jesus on the matter, “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. But when you hear of (Luke 21:8-9). This is what Paul writes to Timothy about deception, (2 Tim 4:3-4).
