About this ebook

This book is a detailed discussion of the traits of the spirit of Jezebel, from the obvious and bold characteristics to the more nuanced and subtle behaviours this spirit displays.

Perversion, hatred, bitterness, manipulation, and rampant sin are all on public display in this present age, and they are hallmark traits of this spirit. The demonic kingdom knows its time is short so it has unleashed itself upon the globe, no longer hidden behind masks, closed doors, or secret societies. It now flaunts itself in the open for all to see.

105 Traits of Jezebel pulls back the cover and exposes the myriad of schemes, tricks, and strategies being used by the Jezebel spirit to interweave its nature within the fabric of culture. Its goal, just like Queen Jezebel in 1 Kings 16, is to dominate through any means necessary and to create a kingdom that is void of the true voice of God and filled with any and every atrocity, perversion, and debauchery the mind can imagine.

Birthed out of deep rejection and hatred for themselves and others, people operating under the influence of the spirit of Jezebel will do everything possible to self-protect. This always means executing precise plans to destroy anyone who may stand in the way of their pursuit of power.

Elijah was a man like any today, and when he was confronted by Jezebel, he crumbled under the weight of this spirit. Thoughts of self-pity, feeling depressed, bemoaning of God, pushing away of others, and falling deeply into heaviness and oppression are just some of the common effects of being targeted by this spirit.

The goal of this book is not to bring fear of any kind but rather to empower the reader by giving a thorough understanding of the internal thoughts and external workings of this spirit. Believers in Christ do not need to tolerate Jezebel's influence in their lives. Instead, they are to be overcomers and stand victorious through Christ.

105 Traits of the Jezebel Spirit

As we enter the end times, the final words of the book of Malachi declare that the hearts of the fathers will be returned to the sons and the sons to the fathers, and the spirit of Elijah will rise amongst the body of Christ. As this occurs, we know there is an attempt by the enemy to thwart the movements and workings of the Kingdom of God. One of the ways this is and will manifest is the rising of the spirit of Jezebel globally. The nature and characteristics she displayed, and the intent of the demonic principality will once again be at the forefront of governments and political systems, teaching and learning institutions for all ages, music and movie production, media, and the creation of cultural norms, business and economies, the church structure, and its direction, and finally, families. There is no part of society that this spirit’s influence will not be found at work.

We are witnessing the culture shift away from anything God ordained. Instead, we are seeing a rampant rise of self-idolisation, promiscuity, and perversion, the brutal murder of hundreds of millions of innocent children through abortion, the return of ‘if it feels good, then do it,’ the removal of true prayer and worship and in its’ place the raising up of celebrity pastors, global worship bands, liberal mega-churches, and finally the purposed twisting and destruction of the Word of God.

Jezebel had a demonically inspired desire as she sat on the throne: to destroy the prophets, holiness, righteousness, humility, and the true God-ordained message. She killed every prophet of God she could find and used this void to raise hundreds of her own prophetic messengers carrying words of self and of flesh, allowing them to dine with and eat from her table. These so-called words of prophecy crippled the nation of Israel by seducing them into a spiritual sleep. They soon began chasing the false rich blessings which came to those who bowed to the ruling gods, sacrificed their children, and gave themselves to drunken orgies with the temple prostitutes, all in the names of Baal and Ashtoreth. Little did God’s chosen people realise, but they had allowed themselves to be taken out from under the protection, blessing, and care of God Himself. Instead, they had been brought under His wrath, indignation, curses, and displeasure.

Jezebel, her wicked ways, and her seduction can be found in both the Old and New Testaments. It is the same influence, power, and desire for total control and destruction. Today, her strategy is no different: annihilate men or women alike, raise a generation who worships themselves, and obliterate anyone who desires or carries the Word of the Lord. If it is impossible to tear them down, the spirit will purpose to lead them astray into fleshly motives and words, so they don’t walk in or fulfil their destiny. The second step is to raise false teachers, preachers, officials, leaders, employers, etc., to bring in and run with the ungodly, demonically twisted Jezebelic narratives.

Jezebel was King Ahab’s queen, which came with enormous power and authority, and that same spirit today is looking to rule with an iron fist once again in this generation. It desires to tear down and destroy any true institute of the Godly while raising up those who vehemently oppose righteousness. This spirit will stop at nothing to bring death and destruction to any in its path, especially those known as the remnant.

Unless otherwise stated, all scripture used in this book comes from the New King James Version. In 1 Kings 16:30-33, we find the first reference to this woman, 'Jezebel’. Ahab, the son of Omri, did evil in the sight of the Lord more than all who were before him. And it came to pass, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal and worshipped him. Then, he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. And Ahab made a wooden image. Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger more than the kings of Israel who were before him.

Looking into the root word of the name Jezebel, we see it means ‘Baal,’ ‘Baal exalts’, or ‘one who is under the favour of Baal’. It is a direct passing down of her father’s name, Ethbaal, which means, ‘Baal is with him’. As a side note, it is important to know the meaning and origin of a name because every time the name is pronounced, the person is being prophesied over. That being said, the name Jezebel also means ‘unhusbanded’ or ‘one who operates alone’; knowing numerous people operating under this spirit, these two definitions become apparently apt.

Although she was the daughter of a king, she was no more than simply his property to be sold or used as he pleased. To gain power and political advantage, she was given in marriage to Ahab. From here, she used her position to begin to influence his decisions. Soon, the nation had turned away from the miracle-working God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and turned to a sickening level of perversion. As king, Ahab had the ruling power to stop all that Jezebel introduced, but due to his personal weaknesses, he refused and was drawn into wickedness.

God viewed the marriage of Ahab to Jezebel as a prostitution of His laws. In 1 Kings 21:20-21, Elijah confronts Ahab, saying, I have found you out because you have sold yourself to do evil in the sight of the Lord. Ahab gave himself and his people to the idol of his heart, economic gain; however, continuing to verse 25, we read, There was no one like Ahab, who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the Lord because Jezebel his wife stirred him up. Again, God spoke of Ahab’s selling of himself into an ungodly alliance with Ethbaal, causing him to be written in scripture as the most wicked king. But from the reader's perspective, we see the true driving force behind his evil rule was Jezebel. She ‘stirred him up’ has its root meaning in ‘allure’ and ‘incite;’ she used marital seduction to cause Ahab to rule according to her own desires.

We are seeing an exponential increase in evil demonstrated in modern society, with the stirring up of people’s fleshly desires and the global acceptance of ‘anything goes’. This ideology aligns not only with the satanic bible, which commands people to ‘do what thou wilt,’ but is also a return to that which was introduced and enforced by Jezebel. These practices were predicted 2000 years ago in 2 Timothy 3:1-4, …in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. It is apparent and somewhat expected that society has entered these. Still, unfortunately, we are seeing the same behaviours and actions being demonstrated and celebrated within the four walls of the church.

We can also see a tide turning of biblical proportions, with logic and common sense being thrown out the window and a hatred for the things of God rising; Isaiah 5:20 mentions that there was and will be a complete perversion of truth and life, Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness. This is not hard to see when you look around, with governments passing laws for ungodly minorities, giving a platform to push highly sexualised agendas, the fight to have ownership over one’s own body to the detriment of another, and a growing level and overreach of complete control and dominance of all people through intimidation and coercion.

    Jezebel Today

Hosea 4:6 says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. The vast majority of people I have spoken to who do not accept there are modern-day equivalents of Jezebel tend to fall into 1 of 5 camps, where major unsubstantiated assumptions are made:

Jezebel no longer exists, being just an old bible character such as Moses or David who are dead.

They do not believe it is a spiritual matter, but rather emotional.

They have been taught a version of cessationism where the demonic realm no longer exists or has no power to influence or attack.

There is the teaching that Christians cannot have demons.

They have fallen prey to the commonly preached doctrine of, ‘if you don’t look at Satan/demons/the enemy, you won’t be attacked by them.’

    1. Jezebel no longer exists

There is truth in the statement that Jezebel, like virtually every other bible character (outside of Enoch, Elijah and Jesus), is dead. We can read about her horrific death at the hands of Jehu in 2 Kings 9, and in the natural, there is nothing ambiguous about this. However, almost 1000 years later, John, in Revelation 2:18-23 is addressing an individual named Jezebel, who is operating under the same name and in the same manner as the one from 1 and 2 Kings: engaging with prophets, and causing sexual immorality, and idolatry. It is safe to say John’s words targeted someone or something alive and well and not at the bones of a dead woman. And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, ‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. Nevertheless, I have a few things against you because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed, I will cast her into a sickbed and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation unless they repent of their deeds. I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works."

We understand that demons operate with two different names. First is their original angelic name, the one God initially gave them before they joined themselves to Lucifer, revolted, and were expelled from Heaven; however, they are also named simply by their function. This is an easy way to identify spiritually what or who is being dealt with. For example, names such as Rage, Murder, Pornography, Anger, Sadness, Depression, Schizophrenia, Witchcraft, Control, Lying, Fever, Infirmity, etc., are just the function of the demon but also the name in which it will answer to.

It is true that the bible never explicitly uses the term ‘Jezebel spirit’; however, scripturally, some attributes or functions and manifestations are clear and consistent. This spirit will answer to the name Jezebel, and if it is mature in its operation in someone’s life, it will bring with it, just like a family, many other spirits. They then all work in tandem to cause havoc in and around a person, with Jezebel in the position of ruling control or as the strongman.

    2. It isn’t spiritual, it’s just emotional

In today's world, the enemy is putting in a conceited effort to naturalise the spiritual realm where apparitions, entity sightings, unnatural occurrences, behaviours, or demonic dreams are simply hallucinations of the mind or tricks of the memory. However, there is a very active, very much alive spirit world influencing much of what happens around us.

This non-spiritualising standpoint is made stronger by the fact that in today’s modern society, it is easier to find the humanistic method to deal with personal issues than to look at the spiritual perspective. With doctors and psychologists on call and credit cards ready, people can and will tune out of a scriptural approach and accept whatever diagnosis the ‘professionals’ give.

All too often, Christians steer clear from accepting the need for personal sanctification through the Holy Spirit. There is a running from pursuing wholeness and freedom because of fear of what might actually be found deep inside. ‘What skeletons in the closet could come out?’

Some further questions need to be asked: ‘When you got saved, did all of your personal problems disappear?’ ‘Why is it that even though you pursue holiness and righteousness, you still can’t break free from besetting sins?’ ‘Why do you hear voices telling you to engage in negative behaviour?’ ‘Why is it that mental hospitals are filled with people drugged up yet are still completely uncontrollable?’

It is the Western world that shuts down the idea that things such as depression, suicidal desires, perversion, and addictions are spiritual in nature and should simply be managed and medicated. In places such as Africa, India, and many parts of Asia, the spirit realm is open and on full display. There is absolutely no denying its existence, nor its power or effects on people’s lives.

    3. Demons don’t exist

The greatest deception of Satan has been to convince people, including the church, that he and his army of demons no longer exist. Throughout the bible, there is consistent reference to his influence and that of demons over both individuals and nations. In the Old Testament, there were many times people engaged with the demonic spirit world. A few examples (personal emphasis added): Deuteronomy 32:17, "They sacrificed to demons, not to God, to gods they did not know, to new gods, new arrivals that your fathers did not fear. Isaiah 34:14 says, The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the jackals, and the wild goat shall bleat to its companion; also, the night creature shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest". ‘The night creature’ is seen as a demonic creature called Lilith and is often referred to as Incubus or Succubus or a spirit husband or wife. In 1 Kings 22:19-23 & 2 Chronicles 18:20-23, Micaiah had a vision where he saw the council of the Lord meeting, and a spirit came forward and offered to entice Ahab by being a lying spirit in the mouth of the prophets of Baal. Finally, in the book of Daniel chapter 10, we see Daniel mourning and fasting for the Jews. In verses 12-14, Gabriel, an angel of the Lord, says, "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia". The prince of the Kingdom of Persia is a demonic principality ruling over the area of Persia.

In the New Testament, almost a third of Jesus’ teachings involved giving an understanding of or destroying the demonic realm. We see demons referred to on over 50 separate occasions and
