My Story—Growing
Up and Being Saved
W hen I was younger, I watched my grandmother create the most beautiful quilts. She created stacks of colorful material all with two-by-two squares. There must have been hundreds of them. I was too young to really understand just how important each piece was and how detailed quilting by hand really was.
Each piece matters and is well thought out in terms of how it attaches to the next in the same way God pieces your story together. Did you know that you were intricately woven and well thought out in your mother’s womb and that you have a purpose beyond just existing? Psalm 139:13 says, You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I hope that through my story, God will give you a glimpse of how you are uniquely created for more. He is bringing truth about where your identity comes from in and through Christ.
I am the firstborn child and have one sister. Growing up, we always had a lot of love in our family. My father is from France and my mother is American, and we were blessed to have all our essential needs met. I had a special connection to my grandparents, who brought a lot of comfort and peace in my life. They were role models for how God intends a family unit to be, and they set the tone for what I wanted my family to eventually look like.
Even though I had the basic needs in my life, I remember as a child and into my young adult years, feeling I was missing something. I felt very empty in many ways. I now know that there was so much more God needed to
