About this ebook

So-You-Say readers.  Book 3 covers my thoughts and opinions regarding related topics we all face on a daily basis. I'm not saying that my thoughts are right or wrong, but merely providing a different perspective in how we all may view things. Words are open to interpretation and my hope is that you'll capture your own thoughts through the journal pages provided. May you clear your mind through a pen and find healing within your words written.

    Dedication

Welcome to book three of four, in the So-You-Say Series.

The first two books were written based on experiences and stories I’ve gathered over the years. Book three is written from my perspective and focuses mainly on how I may view things. Not right or wrong, but just vulnerable thoughts expressed in poetry form. The title, Shattered Pane can be viewed from both sides of a perspective and depends on what side of the pain you currently reside.

This book has been the most difficult to write, as it allows you a glimpse inside my mind. I believe healing comes through journaling and my hope is that this book inspires you to do the same. As my journey continues as a writer, I’m overwhelmed by the positive support as I realize I’m not alone in my difficulties to articulate emotions. This book series has allowed me to become more intentional about the things that matter most in life.

I want to thank those who have encouraged me to write, especially my

mom who has been my biggest supporter. Lastly, I want to thank Brooke.

If it wasn’t for her, these poems most likely would have never been shared.

    Shattered Pane: So-You-Say Series

Seated by a window into nothingness I stare.

Heavy is a heart that mourns. It gasps for air.

Broken within, dried now are my tears,

    though once flowing eyes.

Fed by an empty heart, not seen,

    but it still cries.

    Alone with my thoughts, ironically,

    once I did teach.

    Now the one needing help,

through these arms as I reach.

Though I ask, you remain quiet.

    I need someone who listens.

    Not facing a firing squad,

    filled by your one-sided questions.

I may need more than a minute,

    some support as you nudge.

    Providing advice only if asked,

    true friends don’t judge.

Important are the next steps taken,

    hopefully to not repeat.

As this life we experience the bitter,

    so, we appreciate the sweet.

    Side-by-side is this walk.

Don’t leave this road we’ve paved.

Great are the fruits of labor,

for a soul to be saved.

Not that you are a higher power,

but a placed vessel, by the Divine.

    An anchor through this struggle,

    this fabric, knitted by design.

    Absent will be your reward,

and it’s placed on me not to fail.

Your silent voice of listening is heard,

and with it, I can prevail.
