About this ebook

He stood over a naked corpse that was lying on a slab. The poor dead man had no tattoos and judging by his complexion was no Indian. He was probably some unidentified Confederate soldier or something.
Chuck pondered this for a moment. The man was once alive, and had probably seen his fair share of violence in life. Now, he was dead and his corpse was being used to educate doctors, practitioners of a field that was still in its infancy.
It was quite morbid and exciting at the same time.

Chuck Delon & Doctor Humes The Doctors of Death! - John J. Law

    CHAPTER ONE

    The Janitor

Chuck Delon squeezed the wet mop with his bare hands. The water that fell on the pail had absorbed most of the dirt on the floor and was a dark black. Chuck's hands were dirty from scrubbing the floor and his uniform was dusty and moldy from all the cleaning he did.

Chuck had gotten used to his job by now. Being a janitor at the medical school was menial and quite tedious, but the pay helped Chuck get by. He didn't really mind. It was tough work, but it was better than no work at all. Chuck thought that this kind of work was better and more consistent than going out and hoping to strike it rich by finding gold or something. No, Chuck was quite practical, and he decided that this job was good enough for him. At least he still had a job that paid him reasonably well. And there was an added bonus to all of this. He could hear the lecturers speak about the human anatomy and medicine in general. It was quite interesting and fascinating for Chuck.

All right. You make the incision here, to maximize the cut. The blood will soak, but if you apply pressure with a bandage, you can stop the bleeding soon enough.

Chuck saw the students milling around the lecturer, an old man that appeared quite dapper and commanded authority.

The lecturer made the cut and the corpse bled crimson. Chuck was surprised at all the blood that gushed out from where the lecturer made the cut. He didn't know a dead body could still bleed that much.

As you all can see, as I apply the bandage here, the bleeding stops. the lecturer said.

Chuck watched with the others in amazement as the lecturer stopped the bleeding by applying a clean bandage. The man was old, but he had dexterous hands and clearly knew what he was doing. Chuck hastily made notes of everything he saw. This was by now, a familiar routine for Chuck who often did this to pass the time. Chuck figured that for a janitor, he was quite the learned man now. Chuck didn't know yet, how useful this would all be for him.

    CHAPTER TWO

It Was A Good Idea to Take Down Notes.

It was a sunny afternoon in the small town of New Dawn. It was a small town not unlike
