Chi hummed under her breath as she rocked on toes to heel. A nurse was patience personified. A nurse did not yell at her doctors. A nurse didn't smack one in the face and then drag the other down to kiss her breath away. Even when both of them deserved it.

Seriously, why in the universe had Captain Zaman listened to Dr. Aquila 'I'm a pompous ass' San Nicholas about the Sukhdeepian crisis? Why? Dr. Aquila didn't know alien physiology. Especially not Sukhdeep natives who weren't space faring and didn't want to talk to other races.

But then, Dr. Aquila didn't know much about human medical needs if Chi was judging by his bedside manner. Or sociology. History. Culture. Religion. Medicine. Anything really. All Dr. Aquila 'pompous ass' San Nicholas knew was that he was Important and Right About Everything.

Idiot.

Anyone else would've shut up and listened to Dr. Dana Mullane, yes, those Mullanes, no, not one of the ones who get in trouble at the time really, why are you laughing at
