About this ebook

Gunther Martin was a large and imposing man easily towering over his fellow outlaws in height. He was also packed with more muscle than any of them which was no mean feat, considering that they were on the run from the law, and meals were sometimes a luxury. Despite their hectic and dangerous lifestyle, Martin was built like a mountain while his fellow outlaws were built more like stringy pebbles. A life on the run had clearly taken its toll on the men, but Gunther Martin seemed to be made for such a godforsaken life.
This was one of many reasons why he led the gang and commanded their respect.

Mountain Man vs The Outlaws - John J. Law

    Chapter One: The Plan

Gunther, come here! I got a proposal for you.

Roscoe Simmons called out to Gunther Martin. Martin was the leader of their small band of outlaws and his word was the law in their little group. Roscoe was well aware of Gunther's authority in the group, and it was for that reason that he always wanted to get closer to Gunther.

Roscoe was always whispering something to Gunther to try and stroke his ego, and Gunther had gotten used to it. Gunther Martin was used to Simmons' little act, and he figured that this would be nothing out of the ordinary. He would be wrong.

What is it now, Roscoe? I don't like it when you go out wasting my time. Gunther said.

This was something of a misnomer. The gang was camped out at a secluded area in the middle of nowhere. The area was located behind a patch of woods and flanked by sloping hills and a mountainside. Civilization was nowhere to be found in this desolate area, and it was not recorded in most maps. It was the perfect spot for a hideout, but being so secluded as they were, there was a lot of time to waste. Gunther spoke that way to Roscoe simply to intimidate him, and not because he was truly busy.

Gunther approached Roscoe, and as he got closer, he seemed even larger than he already was. Roscoe Simmons couldn't help but cower and move back in fear from their boss.

What is it, Roscoe? Gunther said.

Gunther, I got a proposition for ya. It's sure to get the gang a lot of cash! And for minimum effort too. Gonna be like takin' candy from a baby!

Gunther shook his head and frowned. Roscoe was always one to suck up to him, but that was about it. He never really had any good plans that panned out in the end.

If this is going to be like that last gig you recommended, I ain't interested! The last time we had a minimum effort" job from you was when we robbed the bank at Sage town. We ended up barely getting anything from the bank, and the whole damn town chasing us away. With everyone in that blasted town shooting at us, it was a miracle none of us
