About this ebook
"What is the point of all this chaos and pain?" Finding answers isn't easy. Sometimes it may be downright hard but then, so is life, and that's what this book is all about. It is a collection of poems and essays about struggle, war, depression, religion, and all those other monsters that we hide inside our thoughts. Some ideas may be considered controversial. Others humorous. But, whatever else this book is, it is honest. Who knows, perhaps it can even aid in your pursuit of truth.

We used to see the lights
through the windshield
so clearly
but now we say that we can see
so much clearer than before
as the rain washes over the window
we used to search for answers
like they are something worth knowing
and ushering it into our lives
but now we are so much smarter
that we don’t ask any questions at all
as the night collapses over our vision
we used to live at peace with our passengers
and even allowed love
to prevent us from riding alone
but now we have matured so much
that we never look beyond ourselves
we used to be content
to drive the narrow road
that led to the place we wanted to go
but now we have spiraled into the ditch
and we celebrate that we have found ourselves
and we are where we’ve always
wanted to be
Witness Statement
Photo by Dominika Kwiatkowska on Pexels.com
It was easy to see that something was wrong
in the dents
and shattered glass
scattered around the wreck
I could see that the driver and the passenger were still there
trapped in a prison of tortured metal
arguing about whether to change the radio station
so I walked over and offered to help
but they said no
the war was going fine without me
and started to debate
the best color of automotive paint
and I couldn’t help but wonder if it all started when a mind wandered away from the road
and a pair of eyes followed
it is hard to see love
in a life that has lost focus
was all this rage about how to color over the damage relevant
when the wheels of the car have fallen off
and rolled to the bottom of the hill
they are about to tumble down
even as I watched it happen
I couldn’t help but wonder
when did this accident begin
