About this ebook

Nothing lasts forever yet nothing stays the same the world is constantly changing, on this tormented planet where the humans survive, where the humans play where the humans destroy their playground.
This is a collection of poetry by the twisted mind of a prolific poet , most of these poems extracted from his underperforming blog of poetry to be finally shared with a worldwide audience, he constantly pushes the boundaries on what is poetry and what is needed to be heard, daily life is the centre piece of his verses, many people are suffering from many causes and the poet shines a light on these people , suffering from war, oppression on just mental illness.
Not all his poems are bleak and desolate , some poems have some very twisted English humour that some people might not understand, but hopefully won't be offended by. Stories need to be told and people should be remembered for who they truly are.

Nothing Lasts Forever - Darren Hobson

How mankind continues to flirt with the idea of immortality

How us humans think we are strong to enough to fly

We must heed the curse that nothing lasts forever

    All things born naturally

    Will take its regular course

    All life will die!

    Nothing Lasts Forever

How does the story go my friend?

    How will the story end?

Because every know there has to be an ending

    Nothing lasts forever

The first kiss with a person you admired

It might have been great or a bloody disaster

This is no biased Disney tale

There will be no happily ever after

    Everything needs work

To get a result you have to grind

Sometimes the task at hand is too great

Thinking you are losing your mind

Sometimes we make some well-earned progress

Most times we take a few steps back

Just when we are getting somewhere we trip over our ego

Breaking everything we have ever forged

Condemning the luck we had on that day

Do you believe in old wives tales?

Slicing the dice and afraid of superstition

The cats has caught its wagging tail

    Nothing lasts forever

Not even the stars that have always been there for you

The sky will fall and the sun will explode

Yet we could never ever imagine it

    Any other way

We depend on so many things that are fragile

We are overconfident that things stay the same

Nothing is as it seems, hopeless illusions

Are life is just like an endless chess game

We build walls to protect ourselves

Invisible barriers that need to be broken down

Only when we can see that life has to be free

Only then can we realize the beauty in our ways

    Nothing lasts forever

The cosmetic surgery and the dangerous exercise

Will never make you young once more

Only when you can except the passage of time

Can you love yourself once more

We need to remember how we felt in those long ago days

A diary, a poem a story to revitalize those teenage ways

To cherish and to learn by all our past mistakes

To build a solid foundation to live our life’s from.

We are too quick to be ashamed

All of mankind has fallen down

What we need to do quickly but without haste

Is to bring yourself back up put a smile on your face

Nothing lasts forever no use in living in the past

You need to remember the good days

Because the future is coming fast

We can’t cry over spilt milk for too long

Because it will sour in the end any way

Remember a song, see the artist

This is a moment in time to hold

    Because he will move on

Everyone is not immortal we all get old

The ticking time bomb of a grandfather clock

    Slowly being ravaged by woodworm

Even though the clock is no more

Does not mean it is the end of time

It a world that has becoming increasingly sterile

Digitalized and robotized in every way

    Not even these mechanical animals

Can last to the end of days

    Nothing lasts forever

Let us make the most of what we have here

Don’t be afraid to fail or fall down

There is nothing left to fear

    Just be you gloriously you

You are ingenious in every single way

Live for the moment, soar high on the wind

    Nothing last forever anyway

Mankind has lost the magic ingredient that made him whole

Overconfident and always thinking in haste and lust

Greed becomes a natural benefactor lying in wait for sin

Ruthless getting everything they want by crushing the opposition

People treated like pawns and discarded when there use is no longer needed

Counting their money in ivory towers made from the luxury of deceit

Only as time passes will they understand they cannot cheat destiny

No matter how cruel or heartless, nothing lasts forever!

A person in a black garment Description automatically generated

    Mankind kissed and cursed

    Progress has become a curse

Every avenue forward has become treeless

All the boulevards in Paris are a killing ground

All the roads are cracked that lead to Rome

We struggling to imagine a world that is not our own

We are gargling at the news that our way is not the only way

We are startled at the fact that there are other means of life

Gobsmacked at breakfast, mankind kissed and cursed

We was taught in an Edwardian school

The books were our friends and saviour

But now it seems after all these years

    That history was manipulated

To the disbelief of the reader

They hid the truth so the world would not rebel

Chains of censorship , the truth was jailed for eternity

If you want to know, just don’t tell tales

There is another story waiting to be told

    It is all about politics

    It is all about religion

These are fences that mark the road to question the content

    If there was no politics

    If there was no religion

Maybe there would be less wars to manipulate the outcome

A Christian writer, a Muslim reader

There is bound to be conflict in the text

For all the words are lies and twisted out of context

The fascist preacher, a communist believer

When he reads the vile racism

The words have no foundation and leaves us all perplexed

    Mankind kissed and cursed

We set all the man traps

And placed them in the obvious places

Instead of hiding them from view

We place them all in front of you

And laugh when you fall into them

The cauldron is boiling with boundless views

    A huge sign says
