ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I refuse to apologize for what I am,
for my strengths or absurdities.
If I had it to do again, I would not change a thing.
Because all of that,
The Journey,
is in and of itself, quite specifically the reason I am me.
(That’s it.)
Be Blessed.
1 Kej McScrotom
I have come and departed a thousand times
In many different guises
Fought and killed and loved and died
Fortunes won and lost—A few surprises
Yet in every single episode
As unique and new as they might be
Inside all those names and faces
The soul belongs to me …
Saddest people I have so far seen
Are the ones who seem to have everything
Money, friends, reserved tables at bars
Twenty-thousand dollar watches—
Hundred-thousand dollar cars
And not a clue in the world
If those good folks hanging around
Are truly there for the friendship
or
Just throwing down—For what they can get
Talking all kinds of shit
Breaking a promise—Before it is made
We live and love, win and lose, then die
Been that way since it all began
No need to sit around and wonder why
We all have to go when it is time m’friend
And the time calls on us all—No exception
The soul would have no rainbow
Had the eye no tear
Regret for the past is a waste of spirit
The profound truth should not be feared
For it is the joy of finally knowing
All things merge and become as one
Love is what gets us all through it
As we travel toward the sun
Forevermore …
They were here for awhile
Then they had to leave
Off to that never-ending place
That we all must go
And though I miss them much
I no longer grieve
For they are with me still
In a much deeper way now
And this I know
They come to me in the warmth of the Sun
And speak to me in the Wind
I can sense their Spirit everywhere
Because Love is Infinite—It does not end
And in my heart and soul I have the Faith
That we shall all be truly together again
Sailing the oceans of Eternity
With my family—And my friends
Forevermore …
Like one of those days in winter
Feels like it’s a minute away from snowing
Embers in the fireplace
Still warm and slightly glowing
From the night before
Like the memories of you that linger
Of times so good that went to bad
Still can’t put the finger
On where it all went wrong
Only word that comes to mind is
