INTRODUCTION

A

nd just like that another book ended. Or it seemed so quick that the Lord provided the start of volume two. So, here I sit thinking, Can I begin another book so quickly? Well, I can and have. I am truly honored by this assignment given to me by the Lord. I’ve met so many beautiful people and heard so many amazing experiences. It builds my faith even more; It truly has taken my faith from flicker to FLAME. I pray that you, just as I, may glean some wisdom from the Lord and encouragement from others while reading these stories. As you turn the pages, I pray the Lord gives you whatever is needed to build you up. Our Lord is so miraculous in the ways He orchestrates our lives and speaks to our HEARTS…

So, I hope you can’t wait to dive right in and read some more truly amazing stories about experiences with the Lord, and of the particularly amazing touches of God in our lives.

THE OAK TREE

A mighty wind blew night and day

It stole the oak tree's leaves away

Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark

Until the oak was tired and stark

But still the oak tree held its ground

While other trees fell all around

The weary wind gave up and spoke,

How can you still be standing Oak?

The oak tree said, "I know that you

Can break each branch of mine in two

Carry every leaf away

Shake my limbs, and make me sway.

But I have roots stretched in the earth

Growing stronger since my birth

You'll never touch them, for you see

They are the deepest part of me.

Until today, I wasn't sure

Of just how much I could endure

But now I've found, with thanks to you

THE OAK TREE

This is me now, I will never be the same.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; and a new life has begun!

Around August 8, 2020, I found myself searching for answers from our Lord, and oh boy did He show up. He knew what I would be facing and that I would need Him, and his peace alone. As you know I lost my son Taylor, May 2021. The exact day we don’t know, but they found him on the nineteenth, and I wouldn’t find out till the 25th. Going back now Taylor had many issues with mental health (suicidal thoughts), depression and bi-polar disorders, which lead him to drugs/jail. I watched my boy go from wanting to be a surgeon one day to burying him. He was a very bright person with high hopes in his life. Taylor had a good heart and saw good in others no matter what, he had a soft heart.

We searched for help it always failed, so around 2019 Taylor had gotten worse into drugs and was a totally different person. He went from home to the streets it completely changed him within two years. He once told me it’s a vicious cycle and he wished that he could quit before losing his own free will, but he couldn’t break free. I watched my son go down a road I never thought he would. A true demon he had in him addiction. God is the only one that knew the true pain, chains he carried around on the daily. Addiction took everything from him, it took his dignity, self-worth and anything that was important. But not his Savior!

When he went to jail October 5, 2020, slowly, he started to make sense again and wanted to learn about God, have a bible, and study the word.

He would call me and ask had I heard of scriptures specifically:

Romans 12:2² (Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know Gods will for you, which is good, pleasing, and perfect.)

This will always stick in my mind forever.

I know he was searching for the Father. He also told me in a letter from my understanding the Bible teaches about God being the way that everything exists and everything as itself. Jesus lives through the people and teaches his ways to everybody. The Holy Spirit is the way that all of the people act together while everything is going on. I kind of want to try and help them learn that it is way more important than it sounds. He had also sent me a picture of a tree he had drawn. I thought that’s strange a picture just out of pen. You see he looked for our God and soon he would find himself going home to be with him.

When he was released on May 7, 2021, I talked to him a couple of times and he told me he wasn’t in control of himself that someone else was. I knew he just couldn’t break free from the ugly addiction. And that’s the last time that night I would ever speak to him. My other son and husband took him his things and he would tell them about a few things like I’ve had a hard time and I’m part of the trees now and last tell mom I love her." I will hold onto those words as long as I’m alive. He was thinking of me. We would never hear from him ever again.

I searched the whole month of May for him and never succeeding. Put out a missing report and all. My son was gone all along the police were searching for a running suspect by helicopter and they would find him in an open field. Laying in a beautiful field with lots of trees, one special Live Oak Tree that stood alone. So many things happen right before my eyes that only God could orchestrate.

On May 7, 2021, Barn, 45, did a bible study I listened to faithfully, Joy taught us about the Oak Tree and all the many things it does, how we are like the Oak Tree and all the benefits it has.

Now this is the last day I ever spoke to my son. That very night is when my little son Cayden would tell me some of the last words that Taylor said, I’m part of the trees. I was shaken to the core when I remembered the teaching. I was in awe but still didn’t know what I was really about to face. During the month of searching, I dreamed of a dark shadow coming up our stairwell and another of Taylor saying, "Help me." It scared me and I was having a hard time sleeping due to the worry and fear. I told friends that I just need to be prepared for the worst, that knock on the door. And tragically I did get that knock on the door.

My heart shattered into a million pieces.

I couldn’t even fathom what God was about to do with all his signs and wonders. After finding out their horrific news of course as with any parent learning their child is dead, I was completely a mess for weeks. But God had given me a peace and knowing that Taylor was home with him in heaven.

It all came together with his drawing of a tree, being in a field, the Bible study about the Oak Tree and even more when I went to make arrangements for him to be buried with his dad. I was with his grandmother and when we were going to the sight, I saw the words Live Oak section, and I said aloud, Live Oak? Yes, she said, that’s the section his daddy’s buried in!!!! You’re kidding me. Her response, No I’m not kidding! There is a big, beautiful Oak Tree overlooking the grave also. I was in total shock and completely amazed at how God used the oak tree to talk straight to me. It was God using the pen to draw that tree Taylor had sent just so he could show me just how amazing He is. I have come across many white feathers so many. Sometimes if I talk about Taylor, they will fall right in front of me. Rainbows will appear also.

I just know it’s God reassuring me that he is with Him, and he is pure, whole, and fully restored. WOW! is all I have for that.
