Dedication

This book was written in honor of all the people who suffer from depression. Not just the typical depression caused by everyday things that happen in our lives but also the depression that hides in our subconscious and haunts us in our sleep.

The doctors have no idea how to treat this. It is beyond what science teaches us. It is a darkness that science can’t explain. Normal medication and therapy don’t do any good. Mostly because it isn’t medical. This is a spiritual darkness that nobody wants, nobody truly understands. It is a darkness that results from a war that has been going on for thousands of years. My hopes are that I have touched on some of the reasons and also a remedy for those who suffer from it.

Some have tried and most have failed in ridding the mind of this darkness.

This book is dedicated to those who suffer from the darkness that destroys them and results in their suffering all of their lives, and some, unfortunately, take their own lives to end the pain and suffering.

I want to dedicate this to one of my own son, Robbie Lee Wilkins. I only knew him for about ten years, but in that time, I saw a young man who had it all. A brilliant man who graduated in the top five percent of his class and was one of the most charismatic and loving people I have ever met. His compassion for people was only topped by his mother (my darlin’ wife) and my mother.

Robbie and my mother have escaped this torment of their minds. My mother, who passed away about fifteen years ago due to heart failure and Robbie, who took matters in his own hands after so many failed therapy sessions, anti-depressants, alcohol, and street drugs he had taken to relieve the pain. Robbie took his life on August 22, 2022.

My darlin’ is still off and on with the severe darkness. It is always there, behind the scenes. You can see it in her eyes. She knows she is not of this world. She wants, like so many others, to go home and be where she can be free. Her faith in our Lord and Savior has helped her. But it’s hard to hold on to that when you are being bombarded by the evil and negativity in this world. Someday, she will prevail and be done with this earth. Until then, I try all I can to be there for her. To comfort her and to reassure her that it’s not her time. She still has work to do here on earth.

Our mission is to help and to serve others, to give until it seems there is nothing more to give. But there is always more! Giving isn’t just monetary; it’s mental and physical. Just showing your love and kindness to somebody can completely change their life forever.

Next time you make the remark, How are you doing? actually mean it. Or just smile at the grumpy neighbor and tell them to have a good day.

We are instructed to love thy neighbor. Try it, you might just be amazed, but you won’t be surprised!

About me

I am nothing but a mere human who has been blessed his entire life.

I have seen and experienced things that most people will never have. I have traveled to ten different countries, been in all fifty states, and have worked in forty-five of them as a traveling construction supervisor.

I should be retired, but I can not stop. The good Lord put the task in front of me to help. I have grand ideas that involve countless riches on how to help people. I want to go to Kurdistan and help build a freedom house. I want to go to Maui and help rebuild Lahaina after the terrible fire. I want to start a clinic where all the people who need counseling can go for free.

We need more Patch Adams in this world to help and be sincere about caring for them.

I have had many dreams of different ways where I can help people.

It is my passion!

One time, I had a dream to buy the domain genisis.com. Now, I looked up the spelling because it was specifically spelled that way in my dream. I looked at texts and some scriptures, it was spelled genisis instead of genesis. So, first thing when I woke up, I checked on GoDaddy and it was available. I own genisisfoundaton.com. Our motto is a hand-up, not a handout. I ordered license plates for my truck, GENISIS.

Now it begins!

I have always thought about writing a book. This will be my second one in print. The first one (I am Amazed, but not surprised ) was inspired by my closest friend and spiritual brother, Zach. We have had multitudes of discussions about things we have witnessed and been a part of.

One day, I made a remark about something that was definitely a Divine intervention in my life. I told Zach that I was amazed at how GOD works in our lives, and his response was, But were you surprised? This was the birth of my first book, I am Amazed, but not surprised.

My second book started out with the title of I’m not luck, I’m blessed. But that title got changed because the avenue the story went down did not follow the path. So here it is. This one was inspired by the countless souls who have tried to escape the darkness, those who succeeded, and those who failed.

On a side note, Zach, through lots of counseling sessions with him, talking about what I could do, helped me immensely in writing this book.

And to my son, who has taught me that you always stand beside people you love. You may not always agree with them, but you stand by them.

That is the definition of true love and true friendship!

I hope and pray there is something you will find in the pages of this book that will, at the least, comfort you. That is my goal: to help and comfort people. That is what our Savior meant when he said, Feed my sheep. We are our brother's keepers!
