Simply Me - Rosemary Hamilton Kyle
Untitled
(5-17-1993)
If life is to be actualized, one’s poetic self must
visualize and reveal the thrust of life’s salutations.
The scheme of life leaves us speculating its Karma.
For life is an enigma, unraveled by the mysteries
of our daily existence.
The Image
I was just looking in the mirror and saw this image; I looked and stared, puzzled at how familiar she was to me.
After a few minutes, I spoke and said cautiously; Hello
To my amazement, she spoke back to me. Hello
just as I had done.
Her voice was so familiar to me but who is she?
I looked closely at the image, and said to myself, "She has grey hair.
She has porcelain teeth, kind of chubby, but had a proud air about herself."
I was looking at my hand and they seem to have a little arthritis.
Strange thing; she was looking at her hands, too.
I said Um. She must have arthritis as well.
I kept my eyes on her, to see what her next move would be.
She had a somewhat sad countenance. I said wonder what is wrong with her?
I think that she was wondering that same thing about me.
She had no wrinkles in her face, but there were a few age spots and freckles.
That wasn’t so strange, because I have those, too.
I said, "She is growing old but is so blessed to still have some young qualities.
That’s true about me, too.
I really think the both of us are highly favored by God, and it shows.
I saw that she had on bifocals that looked just like mine.
Then I wondered if we have the same optometrist?
My night gown was pink and had shoes and purses all over it.
I said to myself, She is even wearing my nightgown.
You know, she started to move when I moved, making the same gestures.
I said Well now, she is either a copycat or we really are in sync.
I looked at her and said, Who do you think you are standing in my mirror copying off me?
as loud as I could.
The louder I yelled, she yell right back at me.
I stopped. I took a long hard look at this image.
Then I started to walk away, but I decided to have one last word with her.
I turned to her and said, If you will just be who God made you to be, you won’t have to copy off me.
You know what, she told me that same thing too.
I went back to bed and started to think about that image that I saw.
I got up and this time I turned on the light and turned to face the mirror and in shame I said, Just as I figured.
Eternal Light
The light of life will shine my way.
The light of hope and faith each day.
The light that shines and make men wise.
The light that shines and never dies.
The light that shines on God’s creation.
The light that shines on every nation.
The light that shines toward freedom and peace.
That long burning light will never cease.
The Biblical Truth
The bible prophecies are coming true.
The promises of God to me and you.
The world is in a state of confusion.
The Bible suffers from lack of intrusion.
You can’t tell winter from summer or spring from fall,
Or whether the man in the pulpit has really answered his call,
Children are against fathers and even their mothers,
And also against their sisters and brothers.
People are being killed on our city streets.
Each day is the same, the incidents repeats.
The churches have become like the world outside.
We are letting society be our guide.
From the lack of knowledge we will perish.
The word of God in our hearts, we should cherish.
God will turn us over to our reprobated minds,
And our souls to hell he will bind.
Men now identify themselves with a feminine touch.
And women the same, vice versa and such.
Children find pleasure in the pain of their friend.
They have become like zombies in a world full of sin.
They rob, they steal, and they kill at will.
With little remorse, like the day on Golgotha Hill.
Parents and children are unaware of their place.
Abuse is rampant in every race.
Aids, drug abuse, rape and diseases of every kind.
Incest, rape, murder and disease of the mind,
Are just a few of the plagues promised before the world ends.
The Bible said it, so why is it so hard for us to comprehend.
Love turns the other cheek; hatred is an eye for an eye and a tooth
for a tooth.
God is the way, and that is the Biblical truth.
Then It Does Me No Good
(5-22-1995)
If I love so that you can love me,
Our lives are not parallel,
I’m not Christ like,
And it does me no good.
If I live for tomorrow, forgetting to live today,
And let life pass me by,
I am living foolishly,
Then it does me no good.
If I am selfish in my giving,
And fail to share with others,
I am not charitable,
And it does me no good.
If I boast of my state of being,
And fail to give God the glory,
I am not modest,
And it does me no
