About this ebook

’’25 European football clubs, during the last seasons’’ is a super-simplified and ingenious collection about the history of football, along the years, and features goalscorers, topscorers, seasons, trophies, records, and many amazing details, every football fan should know, about some of the greatest clubs in Europe.

This collection was born thanks to my huge passion for numbers, quick brain calculatuions, and, of course, football.

But how did it all start?

Until the age of 13, this amazing sport, the king of all sports, was nothing more for me than 22 players, in 2 opposing teams, with all of them chasing a football.

Players like Ronaldinho, the best player in the world, in 2005, and Steven Gerrard, instantly became my favorites, and, with them, the teams they were playing for, among my favorites. Once the years passed, I became more and more fascinated with numbers, goals, and all this sport can possibly mean. As a I starting to follow teams, league and players, and watch many games, on TV, I began to write down results, and soon after, the goalscorers for every match I was watching.

Summer 2009. Already having a ,,collection’’ of a few notebooks, with football results, I started to create some fictional ’’XI’’-s, for all the big teams I liked, from the Europe’s top 5 leagues (England, Italy, Spain, France and Germany). Reading about the sport, and watching the same results I noted, over and over again, I thought I can do much more than that...

Early 2010. It all started then... Suddenly, I had the idea to sum up the goals scored by a team, during a seasons, or in any specific period, also summing up the wins, draws, losses, and so on.

It proved to be the turning point in my life, regarding my feelings for the most loved (team) sport in the world. Once I completed...a team’s notebook, I decided to start writing for other teams, as well.

Summer 2016. Someone gave me the bright idea to save all my progress on my computer, after I showed to some of my friends, all what I had written, until then. All of them were captivated instantly, and were so amazed! It it weren’t for them, I’ve probably continued to keep my work on paper sheets only. It took almost all of that summer, to ,,copy’’ all that information from my notebooks and agendas, into the computer. Soon after, I began to think how to arrange them, and sort them by country, league, clubs and/or national teams, and so on.

Early 2018. Maybe it’s hard to believe, but t wasn’t until 2018 when all my statistics finally took the from in which they are now. As I was reading, and constantly verified, I began to write more and more great stats, possibly fascinating ones.

I must add that the number of seasons I chose for every club is absolutely random, with some exceptions, such as: Napoli – ’’The Maradona’s Golden Age’’, 1984-1991, a period during which the great Diego Maradona played for the team near the Vesuvius, PSG 2012-2020, 2012 being the year in which Zlatan Ibrahimovic transfered to the French capital team, with that moment marking the beginning of the PSG’s domination in French football, Steaua Bucharest 1989-2020, also a historical milestone, the 1989 Revolution, a landmark for almost all the Romanians, Galatasaray 2006-2020, with 2006 being the year during which a became a football (or soccer) fan, ’’Sampdoria’s Golden Age’’, 1982-1997, with Roberto Mancini, the club’s all-time topscorer, playing for the club, during all this period.

I hope this collection will open new ways for the football fans, of seeing and understanding football statistics, and the football history, as well, no matter which team(s ) they may support, and I also hope it may start to bring the football fans closer than ever, by comparing their team’s results during a specific number of seasons, or a specific period.

Enjoy it, football fans from all over the world!
