INTRODUCTION

After producing last year’s first ‘Official Liverpool FC Quiz Book’, it was always our intention to publish edition two, hoping the club could build on their wonderful winning of a sixth European Cup/Champions League in Madrid.

In what was an unprecedented season, COVID-19 aside, we saw the Reds add the League, Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup to their bulging trophy cabinet. Excluding the Community Shield, the club has now won 48 major trophies, three more than nearest rivals Manchester United’s 45.

Such a rich tradition of this magnitude supplied us with so much material to compile this quiz book. We were able to use our League successes in a record eight different decades, so our older Quiz enthusiasts, as well as the millennials will be satisfied. Last year we devoted a number of quizzes to the current squad and legendary figures, so now we concentrate on club clashes, goalscorers, internationals, different decades, etc, as well as club legends and triumphs.

We are sure you will learn much about the history of the Reds and enjoy some good-natured competition with friends and family. Certainly during the lockdown in early 2020, quizzes became the ‘way out’ for many at home and on a greater scale via Zoom, so hopefully this book will provide an entertaining and welcome distraction.
