Introduction
One morning in the summer of 2018, I woke up with my head filled with words. The words began to flow with rhythmic rhyme. I thought to myself, This sounds very poetic. Then it dawned on me that this was a poem given to me by the Holy Spirit. I got up and began to write. I was so amazed as I read the final product of what I had written. Several days later, I was awakened again, with my head filled with words. I got up and began to write. I thought to myself, How awesome this was. The third time that it happened, the words did not come as fluent. I waited for them to flow through my mind like before, but it was not happening like that. I began to ask the Holy Spirit what was going on. As I sat quietly, I received my answer.
I was reminded of when I was about ten years old. I would tell funny stories while speaking in rhymes, and we would laugh. My mother told me that God had given me a gift. Not really understanding what she meant, I continued to make everyone laugh with my ability to rhyme. I guess it was just a phase because eventually I stopped.
When I became an adult, this ability to rhyme came back. I would tell my children to just give me a line, and I can rhyme anytime. They would say something, and I would make whatever they said into a rhyme. I had totally forgotten this give me a line, I can rhyme anytime
phase of my life. We were entertained by that for as long as it lasted. And now after so many years, there were words pouring into my mind, but now meaningful words concerning the Word of God.
I was reminded of what my mother had told me. She said that God had given me a gift. She knew that He was going to use me for His glory, but at that time, I didn't understand it. Now here I was, being told that it was time to use my gift for His glory. The poems would not flow so easily as before. That had happened only to bring my attention to what the Spirit was leading me to do. Now I was to use the gift of rhyme and the gift of the word to share messages God had given me.
There were times when I would preach a message and the Spirit would say, This is an international message.
I didn't quite understand. But now these messages were ready to be put into the form of poems. Now it was coming together. The word preached and the gift of rhyme were merging together to bring forth The Poetic Word.
The Spirit of God would bring to my remembrance what he declared to be an international message. Meditating on the words of messages and the words of rhyme that flooded my mind formulated into what became The Poetic Word. No, it was not as easy as it was at first, but the finished product was astounding.
The Poetic Word consists of sermons/messages that were given to me by the Holy Spirit. They are set forth in the form of poems. This is the poetic part of the book. Following the poem is the actual word of God, taken from the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible. Then following the word of God is the commentary. Therefore, The Poetic Word
is expounded by The Word
and followed by The Commentary.
I pray that those who are blessed to read this book can glean from the glory of God's word and His poetic rendition of His word in rare form. May you be richly blessed.
Part 1
The Poetic Word
The Poetic Word: Living by Faith
Living by Faith
What I see and what I feel:
It is not really, really, real.
I live by faith and not by sight.
I live to do that which is right.
I believe in God's Holy Word:
Not what I see, but what I've heard.
It's what the Word declares and say.
I am living in His holy way.
Not by sight or what I feel:
But what the Word say, that's for real.
I am saved, blessed, empowered, and healed.
The just shall live by faith, and that's for real.
Don't tell me what my life looks like.
I live by faith and not by sight.
But if you keep on watching me,
God's going to show you my victory.
I am the head and not the tail.
Through faith I know I have prevailed.
I am not the borrower, but the lender.
God's covered my debt; I am not a pretender.
I am not sick; the pain isn't real.
By His stripes, I believe I am healed.
I am what I am, by my confession.
Through faith I've inherited my possession.
All these things He is really giving.
All these things in the land of the living.
God's promises are all unfolding.
Look and see what treasures I am holding.
Not only by faith, but also by sight:
God is bringing all things into the light.
I am healed, I am blessed, living prosperously.
I am really walking in total victory.
Give it a try, it won't hurt.
Living by faith, it really works.
God's Word is true, He cannot lie.
Everything He promised, He will supply.
The Word: Living by Faith
Living by Faith
…it is written, The just shall live by faith.
—Romans 1:17
Faith: not by sight
For we walk by faith, not by sight: (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
…but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. (Romans 8:24–25)
Faith: by the Word
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
(Romans 10:17)
Faith in God
…Have faith in God…whosoever shall say…and…believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
(Mark 11:22–23)
Professing/Confessing faith
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;).
(Hebrews 10:23)
My confession of the Word
I am saved. Romans 10:9
I am blessed. Galatians 3:9
I am empowered. Luke 10:19
I am healed. Isaiah 53:5
My victory
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
(1 Corinthians 15:57)
Treasures
The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure…
(Deuteronomy 28:12)
