Welcome to your private 30 Day Prayer Course! This book and its teachings will revolutionize your prayer time and your life!

People for more than 2,000 years, Christians and non-Christians alike, have uttered the Words of Jesus concerning how to pray. The "Our Father" was the answer to the question from His disciples', Teach us how to pray.

Prayer is close to the heart of God, and it should be close to your heart too. Many books have been written on the subject of prayer throughout time, yet today we still grapple with connecting with God and having a worthwhile relationship with Him.

This book has been written for just such a purpose, to learn to interact with God and to develop a deep relationship with Him as your God, Our Father, and your Friend.

I believe that everyone should recite the Our Father daily. I believe it not only aligns us with God on a regular basis, but the prayer also realigns our thinking as to what we should be thinking regarding a multitude of subjects. Your mind is under constant bombardment from worldly thoughts and ideas, and on levels that you cannot fully imagine.

With people growing colder toward God, and the language of our once-polite society getting progressively worse, the Our Father brings us back to Him. It also keeps our minds alert to any changes in ourselves, and informs us should we begin to grow colder to God and our view of Him.

The Our Father also keeps our minds stayed on a structure that hasn't changed in 2,000 years. With everything changing all the time around us, this daily prayer will keep you steady as a Rock!

Preface

Plan on using this book as a prayer tool faithfully for the next 30 days. Not only will you develop the daily and regular repetition of this prayer, but you will also expand your ability to pray better and more effectively than ever before.

By taking this 30 Day Course in Prayer, you are about to spend the next 30 Days, and the rest of your life, in a heightened relationship with God. You will need anywhere from 10 minutes at first and up to 30 minutes daily, to start your training to powerful prayer. Later, you may discover that you can pray for an hour with ease!

In Luke 11:1, the disciples asked Jesus to teach us how to pray. However, the format of the prayer that will be used in this book is from Matthew 6:9–13.

We must realize that Jesus was, and still is, a Jew. He thought Jewish thoughts that were prevalent in His day, and He quoted Old Testament Scripture throughout His life and His ministry. When He taught about prayer and the related subjects found in the Our Father, He quoted the words of the Tanakh, the Hebrew Old Testament, to His listeners. You will find yourself encouraged by the supporting Scriptures found in this manual.

Making the Best Use of This 30 Day Prayer Training

For each of the 30 Days, a full page is provided for you to write down your prayer requests, your thoughts, and your cries to God, as they come to mind.

Determine right now that you will pray from this Prayer Manual every day. Then stay on track. Read and pray every single day without a break or a day off.

Plan on repeating this course (see # 4 below) immediately after the first 30 Days are accomplished. You'll find that you grew in your expectations in just 30 Days from the moment you began to participate in this prayer journal.

When you repeat this prayer journal, use Day 31 (page 195) as the alternate for Day 1. Then go directly to Day 2 (page 5) after Day 31.

This is YOUR prayer book. The notes that you make inside, which you write to yourself, are private and personal. Plan on putting this in an accessible but safe place.

Go through only oneDay at a time. Don't go ahead to the next Day just to read. The full impact of your spiritual training to pray will be heightened mightily by having the remainder of your day to think and meditate on the needs that you have brought before the Father in that session.

Have a private place of prayer selected. You can pray in your car, but that will not be the most effective use of this prayer training. Decide to spend at least 10–30 minutes with this book daily. If you have a crowded household, plan on changing your waking schedule so you can pray in solitude and quiet.

Start out every day with this book, and your Our Father prayer teachings. You will find that the events of your day will vastly improve in just a short 30 Days!

Our Father

Let's start Day 1 by reciting the Our Father out loud. Repeat it now, speaking it loud enough for you to hear it in your own ears. The prayer that Jesus Himself delivered to His disciples was meant to be an outline for prayer. So take your time and don't rush. Be meditative and thoughtful.

If this is your second time through this training manual, use Day 31 on page 195 and go to Day 2 tomorrow. (Remember from where you came in your prayer life, just a short 30 Days ago!)

Say it out loud right now.

"Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
