About this ebook

Bulk Vending – Hit The Quarter Jackpot documents our first years in bulk vending.  We experienced and learned a lot in our first years in bulk vending: buying new and used machines, using location services and buying existing routes.  We hope that what we have learned will help anyone with any level of experience in bulk vending.

We explain how we got into bulk vending, our purchases of new and used machines and purchasing existing routes.  We go into how we service machines and the schedule we ended up with and why.  For each subject we go into we talk about what we did right and what we did wrong and talk about what we learned.

We have had machines in numerous locations and Appendix A of Bulk Vending reviews all of the businesses we have had machines in, how the machines did, what we thought of the business type and if we would go into that type of business again.

We have used locating services to place our machines and have placed them ourselves.  Appendix B of Bulk Vending we review placing bulk vending machines yourself to save you money.

Our desire in writing this book is to share our experiences and what we learned to help others be successful in bulk vending.  We hope that you find Bulk Vending a helpful resource in your bulk vending endeavors.

Bulk Vending - Hit The Quarter Jackpot - Frank Lacy

    Introduction

In this book we will go through our first year or so in the bulk candy vending business. Why and how we got involved in bulk vending, where we purchased machines, buying existing vending routes and our hints, tips, suggestions and warnings.

In November of 2005 we went to a financial freedom seminar.  One subject covered was generating an income from something other than a job.  They listed all sorts of possibilities that would not work for us because we both have full time jobs.  They also listed a number of possibilities that would work.  Network marketing, on line businesses, coin operated businesses like laundry mats, car washes, and vending machines both drink and snack and bulk vending.  That evening at dinner we talked about it and decided we liked the bulk vending idea and decided to investigate it.

Over the next few weeks we investigated on the web and got a couple of books on vending.  We even called a few companies that sold these vending machines and talked with them.  With everything we learned we came to believe it would be easy, low investment, high cash flow and profit.

A few days before the end of the year we took the leap, we bought our first 10 machines, they were triple head machines, 5 red and 5 yellow.  Each would hold three different types of candies.  We were excited and on our way!!!!

    Getting Started

We were on our way.  We purchased our first 10 machines.  Our sales person sent us a packet to read and was going to hold a telephone training class once the machines arrived.  We read the packet and the big question was would we use a charity in our business.  We liked the idea, working with a charity helps them out.  We decided to go with that plan.  We chose a charity, contacted them and ordered our first 10 stickers.

Most charity programs charge a royalty of $1-$1.50 a sticker.  Search the internet with vending charity program and the results will list a number of great charities that have vending programs.

The second big question was would we place the machines ourselves or use a locating service.  Most of the books we read said that locating companies were good for beginners but placing machines was easy to do and cost less to do them yourselves.  We decided with both
