About this ebook
John Oswald
John Oswald is a mechanical engineer and a Certified Professional Procedure Writer. Drowning in debt and divorced in 2006, he started his journey to debt-freedom, which included getting swindled by a debt settlement company, lawsuits, an IRS repayment plan, debt settlements, Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, and recovery of his good credit rating. He learned that avoiding his own mistakes and dealing with debt problems, credit card companies, collectors, the IRS, and attorneys would have been profoundly simple, if he had known the secrets and methods he reveals in The Complete Debt Relief Manual. His passion is to help people avoid his mistakes, eliminate their debts, and steer clear of the predatory debt settlement and consolidation companies.

Introduction
This book is not only about getting out of debt. This book shows you how to:
• Decide on the best way to eliminate your debt and then DO IT
• Handle Creditors
• Handle lawsuits
• Protect or repair your credit report and score
• Save money while doing all the above
At the end of this book are check lists you can use to keep track of your actions and progress. Please make copies and use them as you go through this process.
Most of this information is kept secret by creditors, debt settlement companies, and attorneys. All of them are after one thing – your money. If they told you what I’m about to tell you, they would go out of business.
In assembling this information through personal experience, I spent thousands of dollars on a debt settlement company, accountants, attorneys, and interest on my debt. This book is a roadmap I wish I would have had a few years ago. I could have easily saved several hundred times the price you paid for this information, and, if you’re in a similar situation, and you use the tools you’re about to learn, you will too.
I want you to keep your money. I want you out of debt. I want America out of debt. And I want the word to spread. Please share what you learn from this book.
In order for this process to work, you have to decide right now that debt is your enemy and that you want to beat it. You will need to stay the course and stand strong against pressure from creditors, collection agencies, attorneys, fear, and the temptation to keep spending money you don’t have. You can get out of debt and stay out. You can rebuild your credit and improve your credit score. You can even recover from bankruptcy if that is your only option. And I am about to show you how.
Chapter 1 - The Problem: Slavery to Debt
If you’re reading this book, you are probably struggling to pay your mortgage and loan payments, medical bills, taxes, insurance, etc. You may be desperate enough to pay an attorney or debt consolidation firm to help you fight lawsuits or negotiate settlements with the credit card companies or other creditors. Or maybe you’ve already paid someone a bunch of money for help, only to be frustrated by continued phone calls from creditors, Sheriffs serving you court summonses, and your shrinking bank balance.
Quote1.tifOne of the wisest men of all time likened being in debt to being a slave. Debt is a cruel master. Debt kills - marriages, careers, retirements, and dreams, even though the knuckleheads in the federal government would tell you otherwise. Overspending causes debt, and debt is BAD.
In multiple studies, debt and financial issues stand alone as the top reason for divorce.
In fact, at the end of my first marriage, I had cashed out my 401K (over $150K), which caused me to owe the IRS a hefty sum (over $24K), bought a home I couldn’t afford, bought a boat I couldn’t afford, bought a new car I couldn’t afford, and had around $100K in unsecured debt, mainly
